Look closer... it's pretty bad. The roof over the driver side is pretty much collapsed completely.

Oh I see. i didn't pay attention to the roof. I only looked at the front, rear, and side.

there was a picture of that car on the article that I read. it's a white 370z.
when I get home, I will post the pic. the damages didn't look too bad but i didn't pay attention to the roof though.

There is a video from a helicopter showing the scene attached to this story: Street Racing Kills Escondido Man: CHP | NBC San Diego

You can see that he knocked down a light pole on the right side and the car eventually came to rest on the other side of the highway. Based on the damage to the car it looks like he might have hit the pole roof first since the door is not caved in.

Sad.. From the pic, it doesn't seem like the damage is all that bad. I've seen people walk away from seemingly far worse looking accidents. I guess this time the driver wasn't so lucky..

This also shows you how people perceive sports cars in general. He may not have been racing or speeding but because it's a sports car, people always think it's going fast

when it may not be the case
