Default Casey and Zeda

For those of you that love cars and dogs you may appreciate this story:

My heart was broken when I learned that my beloved Australian Shepherd, Casey was diagnosed with liver cancer, which at that point was clearly terminal. A more loyal, loving and well behaved companion a man could not ask for and I am thankful for every day she was in my life.

Thankfully she was with me another 6 months which I could appreciate her that much more, and at that time I bought Zeda, my 370Z, which was perfect for Casey since she didn't have to jump up too far to get into. But at last the time came where the pain was too great and I had to make that hardest decision. In my grief and not thinking clearly, I decided on a Tuesday to have her put down on Thursday. Wednesday was a terrible day, where I was kept in the office far too long, wanting to spend as much time with Casey in her last hours on this earth. When leaving the office around four in the afternoon I attempted to start Zeda but with no result. Zeda was not going anywhere except attached to tow truck on her way to the dealership.

Obviously I had to reschedule with the veterinarian, which I did for the next Monday allowing me the whole weekend to spend with her. It was a wonderful weekend where Casey was able to visit and say goodbye to all her human and canine friends alike providing me with priceless memories and time focusing on her presence.

I am not a religious person, but I do feel that god reached down and disabled Zeda giving me the gift of that last weekend. For that reason Zeda is a very special car and will never be sold. She is much more than a car to me.
