yeah there was 4 guys with same clan tag running around aimbotting throughout the whole game :shakes head:

I've run into a few aimbotters. When I realize what's going on I just leave the server.

So far though it's only been a small % of people.

I've run into aim-botters VERY sparingly. I can only think of a couple times, maybe.

Been doing some more research for a video card solution. It seems like 2gb 6950s in Crossfire are a much better value than 2gb 6970s in Crossfire. I can save roughly $175-200 going with the 6950s.

For background, I have a single 2GB 5870 and I play on three monitors at 5760x1080. So it struggles if I try to run anything higher than medium settings across the board.

This should answer all your questions.

Yeah I read those. Would have been nice if they tested the cards in SLI/Crossfire

They tested some cards in SLi. Was hoping to see a comparison of my 460's in SLi to the new stuff, but it looks like it scales well.

I definitely am in need of a new processor though - my i7-920 is getting a bit long in the tooth.

m4a1mustang 11-22-2011 09:36 AM

I have an i5-650 and it does quite well. I just need more graphics power to run 5760x1080 in High-Ultra.

I could run Ultra no problem if I was a normal person running one screen. :/

Just found the Crossfire tests. 6970/6950 are pretty close.

Aka, buy the 6950 :-p haha.

I DID find it funny how you can throw almost any freaking processor at that game and it made almost no difference at all. Its all in the graphics card...

sboden 11-22-2011 01:18 PM

Seems just about everything has been taken off the processor. Probably the one thing which can be scimped on now. Video ran by video card and sound run by sound card if you don't use the on board sound, and tons of RAM.

m4a1mustang 11-22-2011 01:42 PM

How much potential for gain is there with a dedicated sound card?

sboden 11-22-2011 01:47 PM

I would have to look it up but I would say up to 10 to 15 percent depending on the card and your settings.

**I'm checking but reviews are all about sound quality and I have not found anything on computer performance. It is very possible the once performance gains have disappeared with the current MOBO sets. I may be too old school on this one. I do keep up with video cards though and I still use a sound card instead of the on board.

sboden 11-22-2011 01:48 PM

Thanks for the links.

m4a1mustang 11-22-2011 02:17 PM

I need to stop looking at this stuff or I'll end up buying a new mobo and chip. I am just going to get the two 6950s and be happy.
