Is he required to remove his balls after doing that?

How convenient! Must be the Genius Bar that does that for you. Afterwards, they put you up in the stirrups and give you a douche for that fresh feeling, right?

Alright, this rig rocks! Both GPUs are maxed out at 100% usage now. i7-2600k at stock clocks I am running 45-60fps with everything on high at 5760x1080. Not bad!

With the Hyper 212 cooler I seeing around 25*C idle and 45*C max load temps with the CPU. Not bad.

GPUs are sitting around 57*C max load.

So I'd say I have the cooling worked out pretty well right now, with a good bit of overhead to OC.

Didn't I tell you to go with an i7 in the first place? Lol

When?

Oh, I am at 4.49Ghz now on AMD 12.1 Preview drivers... constant 50-60fps now with high settings on 64 player servers. I can finally play BF3 again! :D :D :D

Oh, nevermind - that was your GF's computer you were building.

Anyway, yeah...nice job on the new setup. I almost bought an i7 960, but realized its barely an upgrade over my 920. Man, hard to believe the 920 is already...what...3 years old almost? Ivy Bridge, here I come!

Good thing is my board is Ivy Bridge ready. :happy dance:

My GFs build actually turned out really good. Phenom II X4 840 (3.2Ghz), 4GB DDR3 1600, MSI 880G-E45, and MSI 1GB R6770 card. It plays BF3 on high at 1680x1050 flawlessly.

Its too bad, too - that 960 is on sale at your Microcenter for 220...but its just an overclocked 920 in the end. Not worth it to upgrade 1366 unless its to a 980X. And Im not paying that money when I could just upgrade my whole system to Sandy Bridge and get as much/more performance....

Keep an eye on it... they always have bundle deals going on. When Ivy Bridge comes and you know what you want, go to the store and talk to one of their reps. I recommend Jiri... he gets you the best deals. There was an unadvertised 50% off sale on memory and $50 off my mobo bundled with a CPU (which was on sale for $90 off itself) that wasn't advertised as well.

They've moved away from triple channel DDR3 right? Back to Dual Chanel?
