So wtf anyway? Are the "free" cars we were given for the launch only codes we put in that allowed us to BUY them in game? And its not like GT5 where I was given 5 free badass cars I didnt have to buy/ lol

Thats kinda lame that it only gives you the ability to buy them lol. On the other hand, its pretty easy to make money I guess, and the Rivals mode makes it enjoyable beating my head on a wall while I stomp your times, Zagg....and then ruin it by tapping some slow traffic with my car on accident 8P :roflpuke2: |
Rivals mode is fun.
I might upload my Mazda Furai racer. It's R2, has low top speed, but kills in corners. |

The Lancia Stratos challenge you did however, I usually beat your lap by a good 3-4 seconds....but like I said, I keep tapping some traffic on accident. Irritating losing a whole lap (and likely, the NEXT Lap, too) due to that ****. |

I shared a car that you might want to wear a brown paper bag when driving :ugh2: I used it for one of the city car challenges

I saw that :) |

Check out the FIA GT-R in the club

Anyone found a damn good drag car that's NOT a Bugatti/Datsun/R32 Skyline?
|
Is there a limit on the number of cars in a club garage? It won't let me share any of mine.
|
^^ I noticed some glitches with the garage last night -- some cars that I and others had shared are showing up black -- that is, they are there, but the picture is just a black box. There's a few complaint threads about it on forzamotorsports.net forums. Perhaps they've disabled uploading to the garage till they get the issue fixed.
|
Well at least im not the only one with this problem. I think they are there, they just aren't shown. But you can still click on them.

Other cars can be built into good drag cars as long as you set the suspension up right. That just takes time and patience. |
I suck at tuning can anyone give some good pointers for different setups

That said, try this I usually set the cambers settings to -1 front and rear, the front toe to + .1 and rear toe to -.1, and the caster to 5.5 The springs I set depending on the weight of the car and the traction of the tires -- higher weight and higher traction need higher spring rates, but the default values in the adjustable suspension are typically way too high. So I might start them out between 500 and 600. The rebound and bump I leave close to their default for now, but I even them out a bit -- typically giving the rear slightly higher values. I typically lower the diff settings to 40 accel and 35 decel -- these will be adjusted later depending on my stability going into and out of corners I then do a few test laps around Camino Viejo (a good well-rounded track for testing that is also quick to select in the test drive menu) and adjust accordingly. |
That set of chicanes after turn one in Camino Viejo is especially good for testing your spring and roll-bar settings. If you are going fast through there and notice that excess wobble in the car is getting you out of shape, you need to firm up the anti-roll bars/spring rates. On the other hand, if roll is minimal, but the road seems too slick and you are losing too much rear grip, that might mean your spring rates are too high ...
|
Correct, if you have a problem with too much oversteer in corners. Try lowering the spring rate. You springs are too stiff and are causing the tires to do all of the work. Softening the springs allows the suspensio to do more of the work.

Threw up my 370z and 240sx project cars into the club garage if anyone wants to try them out. They are both works in progress and both A600 or A599.
The Z feels pretty solid with TCS on, but the 240 likes to slide in the middle of a corner. The front tires also run around 30 degrees hotter than the rears with the inner edge a bit hotter than the outer edge. I'm gonna try reducing front camber a bit and lower the spring rates or sway bar to try and equalize everything. I also probably need to play with the differential settings since it is now AWD. Hopefully this will help? :ugh2: |
LOL I just get a sick RWD 600+ hp car, back down the final drive ratio so that 4th gear is hitting ~115mph, jack the camber out to ~ -3.0 rear -2.0 front, get the accel to about 75% and lower it all the way. I've got some super high scores like 55,000/lap at Maple Valley with a Corvette C1 and C2, and my Nismo 370.
|
So, anybody want some nice cars? I have plenty in Forza 4, happy to gift one per person if you have a dream car (and no not just the craziest most expensive ones). My gamertag is "DextrousBird71"
|
Just got my CSR pedals, shifter, and wheel. My rig is now complete.
:ughdance: :ughdance: :ughdance: My times have dropped though ... I gotta get used to the clutch, brake, etc. Fun as hell though .... |
