I don't know how they are measuring this, but I find it interesting that all 10 cars are American made cars...

American trucks are a huge target these days, they are very easy to steal and have no anti-theft system to speak of.

Is that theft rate statistic a percentage? As in 10.8% of all Escalades get stolen in the owners lifetime? That's horrible

I find it hard to believe civics and integras aren't on the list. Either way this gives a good idea!

Uh duh, it's written up there at the top, frequency per 1,000. So 1.08% of Escalades get stolen.

Oh, bad morning statistics understanding? It must actually mean that escalades account for 1.08% of all thefts, vs other models being stolen. Kinda hard to infer much about the absolute rate from that.

It's this - the data is number of claims per 1000 insured vehicles.

The Escalade has an immobilizer but no steering lock. Makes it pretty easy to pull onto a flat bed. Apparently GM is going to step up the security methods for the 2012 model.
