I thought I saw it before the movie and they added it because it would be "cool," but they have a real working prototype of the car using a sort of hybrid type engine. Still puts down ZR1 numbers but with some new technology they are working on, that may never see the light of day.

I have not picked a specific year, it is one of the things I need to research. Find out what parts are easily found on the market, what year is possible to find without blowing it all on just the car, all of those things.
