Angry Stupid and Impatient Drivers

I was driving to Costco earlier in my 370z. I was driving on a four lane street, two going, two oncoming. I was on the left lane and there was an older gray BMW 325i driving to my right about two car lengths ahead of me. There were two cars ahead of the BMW that appeared to be making a right turn into a plaza, so I could see that they slowed down. The BMW slowed down for a second or so, then suddenly switched lanes onto my lane without signaling as I just arrived beside the BMW. I was traveling approximately 40 mph on my lane as I saw the BMW come into my lane. I made a quick and hard lane change into the center turning lane to avoid the collision. We came so damn close to impact, but thanks to my quick reflexes and the handling of my 370z, I was able to miss the impact by just a feet or so.

I was so freaking pissed off at the driver of the BMW. The BMW continued to drive on forward passing me while I was in the center turn lane. From what I can see, the driver was a Black female adult with a Black male adult in the front passenger seat. I quickly and safely changed lane back onto my original lane. I caught up to the BMW before the next light and honked at the dumb bitch driving the BMW.

Man was I pissed off. The stupid, impatient bitch turned into a plaza to avoid seeing my face. I arrived at Costco and took some deep breaths to calm myself down. Thank goodness that me and my passenger was fine and my 370z was still in one piece. I just wanted to vent my frustration with impatient drivers that do what this dumb broad did.

Yeah, I saw a huge truck (Dodge Cummins monster POS) almost do the same thing, there was an on-ramp on the right and rather than slow down, he does that "hook to the left aggresively" crap while billowing black diesel exhaust and almost takes out an Impala behind me, who luckily was clear to move to the next lane.

You do not have the right to not be slowed down. If you are going to drive in the right lane, prepare to be slowed down by people merging and hanging a right, etc.

Unfortunately it seems like 50% of people drive like dumbasses and the other 50% are texting or on the phone.

Glad all is ok. I've always been a Mustang guy until last week when I got my Z. I love my new car but it is so small that I get paranoid while driving. I live in West Texas so all we have out here are huge diesel trucks hauling *** everywhere.

Yesterday I drove from NC through Tenn and VA... Trust me, I saw my fair share of impatient drivers.

Driving at a safe following distance seems to be a lost art, and certainly too much to ask of the traffic behind you. This is why accidents become pileups.

You really have to drive defensively though. I imagine you saw this coming - or at least the chance that the BMW might do something unsafe. It might be that you were in the other driver's blind spot too. Sad thing is, the other driver probably never knew you were there or what you were honking at - glad your safe.

The difference between an average driver and a good driver these days is the ability to anticipate all the dumb sh*t about to happen around you before it happens, as it inevitably always does.

I agree that the best driver is a defensive driver. I try my best to stay out of other driver's blind spot, especially big wheelers. It just pains me to see my 370z with a damaged fender or bumper.

Part of my job is driving big rigs and cars like ours are sometimes hard to see. So I totally agree on the defensive driver thing

Since my pet peeve is slow drivers in the left lane, what were you doing out there? About to make a left turn?
