The funny thing is that the train track is closer to my house. I also get buses and trucks going past the same road, yet I rarely hear them. Who wants to get raped in the ear?

A built Harley is slower than my SUV hahaha, it's sad. I guess you can take it to some bike shows and have other guys stroke your ego.

Like I said can't afford a Harley.

It must be all the noise damaging your brain cells, it must be hard to do simple math after having rape yourself in the ears

I always close my windows when I hear one coming up. All they do is convert gas into noise, IMO>

You guys are funny, you sit here and bash motorcycles being loud when almost every Z on this forum(including mine)has a very load exhaust.

If the cops aren't busting my balls about how loud my bike is then it's not a problem I think the problem is some of you guys just don't like it.

To bad.:hello:

There really should be a law on how many decibels of noise a motorcycle produces!
"By the way you misspelled motorcycles"!

My only problem is with the obnoxiously loud (95dB+ ) bikes. I have the same problem with super loud cars.

cossie1600 04-18-2011 08:36 PM

I am with Red Zed. I don't care if it is a Ferrari/Mustang/Prius/370Z. Annoying is annoying no matter how you look at it, especially for a non track car. Heck, I am not a fan of spec Miatas exhaust doing track days during non racing event either. Sometimes people why race tracks can't be built easily in this country...

See post #1, I hate loud cars as much as I hate loud bikes, especially the really slow ones.

this is interesting. OP doesnt like something, personal opinion, thinks it should be eliminated off the face of the earth.

P.S so what if people start bitching that they hate fast cars. Should those be eliminated and not allowed either? I mean you hate slow cars, slow cars hate you. who wins that.

I have a fast car and a fast truck, I don't go around my neighborhood at 150mph creating a hazard for everyone, I save the HP for safe spots. It's just common sense. What happened to respecting your neighbors/friends/people in general? Is social responsibility not taught in school or from parents anymore? It's sad.

Here is an opinion. I don't like loud cars/bikes, you can disagree.
Here is a fact. Some cars/bikes are LOUD, way above the legal limit.

My exhaust is pretty much stock.

What bugs me is the ridiculously loud bikes, especially the V-twin ones. There's just something I don't like about the sound they produce. Crotch rockets usually don't bother me, there's just something about a high revving motor just makes me smile. That's just my two cents.

are you judging what is a hazard for everyone based on your own opinions or the law? And are your "safe spots" closed off tracks made for HP? or just areas where its a nice straight road? Also then i assume you never speed.. ever... and always stay under in a school zone. Cus ya know. just sayin... your thinking that your own opinions and thoughts are the way things should be.. and F-All to everyone else.

Speaking of social responsibility, how about going around stereotyping all bikers are narcissistic SOB's... thats socially responsible. On that same level of responsibility, I think people who drive blue z's and prius's are self-righteous opinionated SOB's.

:p

Im just playin around if you cant tell.

But really, lots of things you dont like, just gotta deal. Unless your sleeping in the street next to the bike as it starts up and drives off, its not actually "raping" your ears or "hurting you". you just happen to hear it.

I actually have permanent hearing damage in my right ear from a guy revving his bike on the road. Granted it was louder than usual (105dB), but it's not so far-fetched.

Loud vehicles have an effect on people around them though, and they are illegal. It's often not enforced, but it is against the law.

there you go. See thing is.. everyones opinion of too much is different, when it gets to the point where people actually get hurt then obviously its too much. but realistically are all bikers that loud? i'm willing to bet ... not even close to alot.

Other things people have said/thought:

Some headlights are too bright...

some people think 10mph over speed limit is okay...

somethings are too loud... at 95db.. some people say 100 is too loud....

i just punched my keyboard cus the 1 button wasnt working correctly...

People have looked at my 17.3" laptop and said its too big, why do people make laptops that big.. (FU! i like the 17.3 and no one is forcing you to buy one, but i dont use it in the airplane cus thats not right to subject the guy next to me to it!)

As the great thinker of our time said... "This is life so go and have a ball. Because the world don't move to the beat of just one drum. What might be right for you may not be right for some. You take the good, you take the bad, you take them both and there you have ... my opening statement. Sit, Ubu, sit. Good dog"
