as for the OP, just cus the bikes are loud doesnt make em ********. Generally the bikers are some of the nicest people ive met.

Lemme change that up, harley guys are some of the nicer people. The crotch rocket guys tend to be hella stuck up.

They could be the nicest people on earth, but then it still doesn't give them the rights to rape everyone's ears. My dogs are sweet, but you wouldn't want them pooping all over your yard. It's one thing if you mind your own business, it's another when you intrude into other people's personal space.

The Honda bikers usually just mind their own business and enjoy themselves, I don't see them getting killed more often.

At the risk of making some who "like" the extreme noise from some bikes... let's just politely say: "I don't appreciate the racket they make".

I am sorry and have to chime in here especially with all the hate towards our two wheeled brothers. Simple fact is if you can hear a bike from 5 blocks away you did not spend enough money insulating you house the correct way, no matter how loud the bike/car truck is. I live less than one block away from a very busy train track and dont hear it like you are and it is alot louder than any bike or car. One thing for sure is that you will not see someone talking on their phone or texting while on there bike and I find that more offensive than loud pipes.

They may not be on the phone, but some bikers smoke a cigarette while riding!:icon14:

Most of the older guys I know that ride have bluetooth modules in the helmet. There was a guy on a Harley that rear ended a car by my house because he was on the phone.

A lot of the bikes we take issue with are putting out sound levels in excess of 95 dB, with some exceeding 100dB. Even your "properly insulated" house will let in quite a bit of noise. But the bigger issue is the irreparable hearing damage done to the rider and moreso the bystanders.

It depends on the car you're in. I can tell you most of the newer Lexus cars will effectively block out the noise from most bikes.

It has never bothered me. It could be you are living in a bad spot or you are just getting old where you are becoming like those old grumpy neighbors that get mad over every little thing. Especially, the ability to hear the motorcycle about 1/4 miles away....WOW :)

I agree that most of the are cool people. You shouldn't judge them of being an "a$$hole" possibly by their appearance or because they enjoy cruisers. We should ban rice rockets for eye sores! I had a criminal justice professor who was a former chief justice rode a harley often.

Frankly, what gives you the right to annoy other people because you decide to drive a death trap? I don't need to be waken up in the morning by your piece of crap in the morning. It's one thing if you are doing it at a reasonable limit, but I shouldn't be able to hear you five blocks away. Most of the bikers are just narcissistic jerks who want attention.

Sorry to have to generalize, but I am sick of the crap these bikers are pulling. Why am I getting raped in the ear daily by these narcissistic SOB. This is not just for bikers, I absolutely can't stand the loud cars too (especially the slow ones)

After owning all of those you really want me to take your comment seriously.:facepalm:

I think a few weekends at the track with a z probably gets close to the cost of a bike.

Prius=25K, 370Z=29K, my tow vehicle=42K. Yup I can't afford your Harley.

The funny thing is that the train track is closer to my house. I also get buses and trucks going past the same road, yet I rarely hear them. Who wants to get raped in the ear?

A built Harley is slower than my SUV hahaha, it's sad. I guess you can take it to some bike shows and have other guys stroke your ego.
