Yeah just b/c you have two hands and two feet and a stiff neck means you should have a drivers license and a car.

Having ridden bikes for quite a while, louder exhausts don't translate into people changing lanes into you less frequently. Besides the fact that at highway speeds, you can't really hear a bike no matter how loud they are, the sound of a bike doesn't generally stop people from changing lanes.

If you have experience riding, there's no reason to be in a position that someone can change lanes into you. All that happens when you put on loud pipes is you help reinforce the negative stereotypes that the general public has about bikers.

Negative stereotypes is another definition of someone who is ignorant to a certain subject.

So since they are the ignorant ones then I guess I'm right.:stirthepot:

Not a fan of loud a$$ harleys (or any bike for that matter). We have a neighbor across the street who has a pretty sweet looking customized harley but it's loud as sh!t and i swear he just revves it for the sake of hearing it too.

Sooo, I'm not going to feel bad when we install our FI LTH's and non res. FI CF CBE.

(I do feel a bit bad for our other neighbors though)...(okay, not really).

I can't argue with your logic:ugh2:

I love bikes. I've ridden them longer than I've been driving. Obnoxiously loud bikes are a big part of the reason most people take issue with motorcycles. I have had an aftermarket exhaust on every bike I've owned, but I kept it reasonable, just like my car.

Even a pretty loud exhaust will be effectively blocked out by road noise and the stereo in the car next to you. All you do when you slap on straight pipes is prevent yourself from hearing what is going on around you.

^Good point about hearing what goes on around you, that is a big factor behind being aware and safe.

Yeah, as nice as it would be to assume other people will pay attention, you have to take that on yourself when you get on a bike. Maybe one day the driver's license requirements will step it up and get people driving safer, but I doubt it.

you must have your music obnoxiously loud. I always hear harleys coming and going even at highway 80mph.

as for the OP, just cus the bikes are loud doesnt make em ********. Generally the bikers are some of the nicest people ive met.

Lemme change that up, harley guys are some of the nicer people. The crotch rocket guys tend to be hella stuck up.

I too sometimes leave for work @ 5:30am,I'm sure my neighbor's don't appreciate it but I try to short shift it to keep the RPM's down that's the best I can do.

But do I feel bad having loud exhaust "HELL NO" it has saved me from serious injury, for those that don't like it I say to each there own, everywhere I've lived cops will bust the crotch rockets balls but never once have I been harassed or pulled over for loud exhaust.:tiphat:

Sorry, I don't buy that one bit. I drive a Prius and had a Miata/Moped/Elise, which is way quieter than your bike and I get cutoff no matter if I am on gas or electric mode. Frankly, what gives you the right to annoy other people because you decide to drive a death trap? I don't need to be waken up in the morning by your piece of crap in the morning. It's one thing if you are doing it at a reasonable limit, but I shouldn't be able to hear you five blocks away. Most of the bikers are just narcissistic jerks who want attention.

Sorry to have to generalize, but I am sick of the crap these bikers are pulling. Why am I getting raped in the ear daily by these narcissistic SOB. This is not just for bikers, I absolutely can't stand the loud cars too (especially the slow ones)

You drive a Prius, of course you get cut off. I do that on purpose. :tiphat:

Very true! "It's look at me, look at me"!
Semi-trucks are less disturbing!
