I don't think I have EVER heard a street car that is close to reaching the sound levels some of these bikes produce. I think some of you guys who support or are motorcyclists are taking that as a blanket statement but it is not as many riders are reasonable both in their etiquette and their noise levels. There are obnoxiously loud cars as there are obnoxiously loud bikes but the obnoxiously loud bikes are always a step above their car counter part in my experience.

Again, I can't wait until the motorcycle industry gets to enjoy emissions standards like cars do as this will level the playing field in the eyes of enthusiasts on both sides in my opinion.

I hate loud *** harley's wakes me up all the time. It also wakes up my nephews when they visit the house. To my experience I have never heard a street car even the one's with a straight pipe louder than your usual harley's.

Well, my neighbor with the loud a$$ harley woke me up this morning at 6:30am. I could hear him in his driveway across the street letting the damn thing idle for like 5 minutes and then off he goes making sure to give it some extra revs to boot, waking up the everyone in a 1/4 mile radius.

I agree that many bikes are too loud but I also think bikes should be louder than the cars around them. It's actually a safety issue. If your loud enough to be noticed its less likely you will be run over. I ride an R6 and I put a leo vince exhaust on it. It's quite loud when you wind it up but at normal cruising speed its just loud enough for people in their cars to hear. Since putting the exhaust on I've had fewer instances where I had to perform emergency maneuvers to avoid being run over.

Not really sure how a loud bike can save lives. From taking motorcyle safety class here on base not one instructor mentioned having a loud exhaust is part of motorcyle safety, your better off wearing a orange or yellow jacket and ride like your invisible to other drivers, also if possible never ride alone. One thing also most motorcyle accident happen because they get cut off which mean up front, the exhaust is in the back and the majority of the noise goes to the back and most drivers will not hear motorcycle till they are already next to them. This is only my opinion of course and not a fact, just as much as there is no fact/statistics proving that loud exhaust saves lives. Ride safe, don't ride loud.

I agree with he bikers here, but I think its selfish to only allow bikes to be loud, I've been almost run off the road many time in my car. If I have a siren blaring on my car at all times it would be much safer for all on the road.

I dont mind them being loud, loud is good. But as long as they just drive by and go on. I hate everyone that they feels its necessary to rav it every 10 seconds and every single time they are sitting at a stop/ light. Who are they trying to impress, cus they are not impressing me. All it does is irritate and makes people want to bump them so they quit making so much noise.
My opinion.

Is it me or am I the only one that hates them? I just got on the computer 15 minutes ago, yet I can hear 8 of them driving by with my brand new vinyl windows closed!!! The sad part is that I live .25 miles away from the main road they are driving on! I am so pissed off that I just wrote a letter to the police department and the mayor. Am I the only one that hates these guys?

I hate loud cars just as much as loud motorcycles, I hate getting raped in the ears.

Mine so loud I can't even here it anymore......:p
