That's exactly what happened. it actually didn't start bleeding for like 5 sec.

eee.....that sucks!! glad ur ok bro.
I've done the same thing to my middle finger... 2yrs ago. But mine was worse.
I Used to work at Japaness restaurant as a chef, while I was cooking at the grill, cut my finger by a huge steak knife.
was able to reconnect it, but shorter then the others.
