Lost part of my finger today
 

Well today I was working on an art project for school. I was cutting some thick paperboard with an exacto knife and at the last part of my cut, the knife slipped off my t square and sliced a piece of my index finger right off. I feel incredibly dumb and very lucky that it was such a small piece. So anyway I thought I'd share the story. Careful out there people. :tup: haha

Sorry about your mishap. It is lost or were the doctors able to reconnect?

I x-co-worker of mine (from Russia I think), lost his toes. He tried to mow his lawn and pulled the mower without moving his foot.

Omg that sounds horrible. Ya I am pretty lucky though. My wife is an ER Nurse and she said that trying to reattach it would just make it necrotic. So I said my goodbye and snapped this picture lol.

So we can call you 9 1/2 fingers of Death!! :ugh2:

Well it was diagnosed as 15% of my left index finger, so carry the 1... W/e the math is on that. Haha

I'm really hoping it grows back :D

I've done the same thing to a much lesser extent. I was holding down a ruler and ran the xacto right along the side of it. Didn't take more than a sliver and didn't even realize I'd done it until I started bleeding everywhere.

Damn! Glad you are alright, that is pretty gnarly! I've done similar things, it is not fun at all although it makes for good conversation haha.
