If the weapon/triggergroup is manufactured after 1989, from what I understand, and you do not have correct paperwork, it is.

That is why I would never own a PS90/5.7x28 caliber weapon except as a toy.

i shot a fully loaded thompson center fire .45 from WW II a while back, kinda cool and real expensive real fast!!!!!!!

Whatever you get, I think a first handgun should be 9mm. That way you will go and shoot it more as ammo is cheaper, recoil is less, etc. If you don't train with it enough to put the lead on target when it counts, caliber doesn't matter one bit.

Well, if you examine shooting statistics you will see that officers hit the subject somewhere around 20-30% of the time. Thus 70-80% of shots fired never hit their intended target!

I have seen a lot of them shoot. I'm not suprised.

This is why I carry a 9mm and practice often. With the regular practice, I am more likely to hit. With the 9mm, I get more chances to hit (as opposed to a .40 or .45)

I feel you! I have friends in law enforcement and they SUCK at shooting!!! I was like how the hell did they give you a gun...

I will stand behind them and use them as shields lol

Practice makes perfect and shooting is a finesse sport... I participate in tactical tower matches against folks ranging from military to law enforcement to avg joe's like me... .45 is definitely not the easiest for the pistol section especially going weak hand that can be tough unless you train shooting lefty. We shoot at 4" targets ranging from 15-30yds in some of the most uncomfortable yet practical shooting positions you would ever find yourself in. And its all about making sure you hit the target I learned after my first match "Smooth is fast" rushing your shots is the difference between 1st and 5th! I know I got 5th

What seems like an eternity getting correct sight alignment is only about a half sec to a sec in real life. Like everyone of the shooters here has said the best way to find the right caliber and or gun is to: shoot shoot shoot and after that shoot some more! Then decide for yourself ohh i like this gun or this caliber the best. Each gun will have features you will love or hate shooting and holding them is the only way to know which is best...

I personally love single stage triggers and I HATE... with a passion double stage triggers. to me the pull is way too long and switching from my rifle to my pistol I want the pull to be identical... short, clean and crisp! 3lb trigger pull on all my guns

I am odd. I like Glock's trigger and shoot to the reset. If you do that, it is a pretty short pull and it NEVER changes feel like my SA/DA sig. The SIG was polished up by Torie of GGI and feels great. I would guestimate it at around 4# and very crisp in SA.

I trained with the USSS, and they were average shooters. I think they made the wrong choice with their service weapons.

I personally like the Glock 9mm option. However, I train with the Sig 229.

I voted for the shotgun for close quarter combat shooting. Actually, I'd like to have the handgun on standby if I'm going to use the shotgun as my primary before running out of ammo.
