I didn't watch the commercial. I'm just saying the serious ones about car comparo's, such as GM and Hyundai, are a bit silly. I assumed this to be srs, but I can't watch it at work.

Yeah a lot of these car commercials now days make me cringe. It makes you wonder how ignorant the general public really is. Subaru and Volkswagen are making especially lame ones lately. The one where Subaru had this middle aged man drive a legacy thru a parking lot full of ricers while getting mad respect made me wish Chuck Norris would kick me as hard as possible in the balls. And then there’s the Volkswagen “autobahn for all event” gimmick where they try to make it seem as though a Jetta accelerates like a Buggati Veyron via “shooting the gap”.

Is that one in the link you posted even shown in the U.S.? The only "New" Subaru commercials I've seen are the 2-3 EXTREMELY lame ones such as the one I mentioned. The last semi not so bad Subaru commercial I’ve seen was one where the driver was doing slides all over / around the pavement in a WRX. But even that one was edging on lame because as they showed the driver doing gear changes he clearly wasn’t changing gears, just moving his hand back and forth like a dildo.

lots of views doesn't mean marketing genius. I'm sure they could have an ad where they compare all the german cars to hitler and have swastikas all over them and it would get tons of views. The slogan could be "Buy American instead of Nazi cars" It would be a really bad ad compaign and really hurt them, but rest assured, it would get way more views than this commercial.

If you think something like this where they insult a great car makes me want to go out and buy a ford your wrong in the head. If anything this makes me hate ford even more. And to think I was going to their website to check out the new mustang but never looked after seeing that video.
