Damn, how did I miss this thread.

I just picked up the Farmstock today. It is smooth but not a lot of flavor on the palate. It does have a nutty caramel aftertaste, but definitely not worth the price. I'm disappointed since I'm a huge fan of the 10 and 12 year WPs

I'll post up a pic tomorrow but after a fairly thorough trek through bourbons and ryes, I've settled on Redemption 9-Year as my absolute favorite bourbon ever.

I love the single barrel but highly unimpressed with the quality. Turns to **** after about two hours in the glass. I drink slow and expect my bourbon not to turn that fast. Redemption 9 Year, so far as I've observed, is the only one that won't turn even after five days in an open-air environment. Now that's good bourbon! But yeah, you are right. It doubles the cost. I suppose as long as you pour light and drink fast, no problems. It is real hard to beat that one.

I do like Burboun.A lot of trips south of the boder introduced me to 1942.This not the Tequlia you got sick on in college.Oak and vanilla finish.So differnt than other Tequlia.Once you experience this you might want to go all the way and try Don Julio Real.

They are excellent so far. I replaced a funky pair of Bose 901s.

I have played the following for break-in purposes:

• Pink Floyd -- Dark Side of the Moon
• Steely Dan -- Aja
• Robin Trower -- Bridge of Sighs
• Queen -- A Night at the Opera (for Mrs. Dr. onzedge™)

They have revealed the weak link that is my power amp and I am debating the wisdom of pulling the trigger on the McIntosh MC152 which costs $4,500.

What's the update on the speakers?
Tonal quality?
Placement?
Amp change?

The tonal quality is very good, but I have only about 7 hours total on them (at decent volume). I expect improvement over the next several hours of use as they break in.

I have them about a foot off the wall and I am playing around with placement to find the sweet spot.

They reveal weakness in my power amp and CD transport and I am going to replace the amp in about 2 weeks and then the CD.
