Got my order in! Thanks so much. Good looking watches and that is super cheap!

I chose this one for now, which seems pretty neutral for a watch I can wear with everything. Barely $100 shipped, plus a free gift? Yes please!

I think it's alright to keep it all confined to "finer things" otherwise we get to fragmented.

frost 08-21-2010 08:27 PM

So ............ I broke a lace on my dress shoes. Got me thinking about other options. What are your thoughts on leather monk straps?

http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_PSI1L9Db3w...trap+Shoes.jpg

m4a1mustang 08-21-2010 08:31 PM

Those are pretty sweet, but I don't think I would wear those as a primary dress shoe. I'd go for something a little more subdued and break those out every once in a while.

I tend to prefer the more traditional lace up in that style of shoe. If I am not going to wear a lace up, I would go to a dress loafer, but that's just my style, YMMV :tiphat:

frost 08-21-2010 08:36 PM

Yeah, I usually go a little more traditional myself, but I've been thinking of spicing things up.

Its a real nice shoe. I'd wear it

Spicing things up is fine, but not as a primary shoe IMO.

I get what you're saying. What if they were straight black, would that "tone it down" enough for a regular wear?

Xan 08-21-2010 08:59 PM

Is this regular business or just leisure?

If business I would say no, leisure, sure why not.

But one tip for leather shoes, buy two or more pairs of leather shoes and never where the same two days in a row. When taking them off, get some cedar wood shoe trees.
This way your shoes will last 5 times as long.

Someone told me about this thread last week (can't remember who because I'm a space case :icon17:). I'm a watch-addict. I don't have any super high-end watches, but I'm a severe Citizen addict. I've got a few others, but mostly Citizen (I hate replacing batteries).
I absolutely love this watch. It's a limited edition (1500) titanium race chrono. It has standard chrono, but it also has race chrono. You put in the distance of the track up to 3 decimal points and it records up to 20 laps. It gives you the fast lap, slow lap and average as well as the mph. Has quite a few other standard features too.
Excuse the pics. Cell phone and I also didn't clean the crystal of the watch. :icon14:

If you don't get a buyer, I may take it. I still haven't gotten my coupon code honored yet, so I may have to return what they send me for a full refund. If I do that, I'll pick this one up instead.

marcelo929 08-25-2010 12:12 AM

I recently bought myself a watch for everyday use. The brand's called Oficina del Tempo. They're decently priced for the quality. If your going to buy a watch check them out.http://www.europastar.com/europastar..._2009/odt2.jpg

Sounds good, Matt. I haven't posted it up on the watch forums but I'm sure when I do it will go pretty quickly. Just let me know and if it's still available it's yours.

If you want something casual I think the orients might work. I like how its well built, nice weight, and cheap with the discount. :p I don't like babying watches so no rolex for me.

Matt 08-28-2010 07:37 AM

I got my Orient in today, and I have to say I'm impressed. My wife almost flipped out when she saw it because she thought I had paid several hundred (or more) on it!

I got the discount kicked in via refund Steve, but let me know if yours doesen't sell any time soon.

m4a1mustang 08-28-2010 07:38 AM

I sold my Blue one but I have a black one... brand new in box, that I'm turning around. Will sell it for cost... $95 shipped.

Good to know they honored the code. See my post above for my Black Mako. The blue one sold the other day.

These are pictures of the Black Mako. Mine is back in the box and I never took any of the shipping material off it so no more pics, but here are some other peoples pics of the watch:
