Huge spider crawled under my hood

I had to go to the store so I walked in the garage turned the light on and the first thing I see is this gigantic spider (one of the hairy ones) it was light brown and I could even see the fangs and ****. Well it ran across the roof and windshield and then disappeared under my hood.

I'm paranoid as hell that this bastard is gonna crawl through the AC vents or will go outside the car and go in a window if I have them down. If that thing crawled on me while I was driving I think I'd crash.

First thing I did was drive the car hard to heat up the engine which I got to above 220 degrees. I hope that killed it.

NYBladeZ 03-13-2010 08:26 PM

haha that's too funny, I hope it fell off along the way

Lemers 03-13-2010 08:29 PM

Spiders like dark quiet places. I don't think it gonna hang out under the hood very long whilebthe engine is running. I'm sure the heat would be too much. If it gets past the moving part the 220 degree temps and the noise it still needs to eat. So if it still is alive and in you engine it gonna leave once it needs to find food.

I hope so. I can handle wasps and stuff flying around the cabin but that thing just looked nasty. It was fast as hell too. Took like 2-3 seconds to scurry from the roof to the front of the hood. I bet it's just chilling somewhere waiting to kill me.

370Zvetlana 03-13-2010 09:48 PM

thats the worst. I remember finding a spider in my G35 back in the day almost every week (small ones, but still as creepy). I am so sure there was a nest in there somewhere

Red370 03-13-2010 10:56 PM

I would cry like a little bitch. And this is no lie, spiders scare me shytless.

370Zsteve 03-13-2010 10:58 PM

Spiders like warmth. It will probably migrate to the cabin through the heating ducts. :stirthepot:

Yeh. All the baby spiders there will ride on moms back. Just try stepping on it then. And watching them all spread over your shoe.

DIY Factory Cabin Air Filter Install

If you install a Cabin Air Filter you'll make it harder for your buddy to hitch a cabin ride. :eekdance:

You see, this post is funny because just last week I was sitting in my car talking to a buddy at which point I looked up and there was this spider about a inch in diameter sitting there staring at me...I jumped out the car as fast as I could and was damn near squealing in front of my house. I dont like spiders...

fullmonty 03-14-2010 04:53 AM

I wish you didn't even post this cause now im all creeped out. I hate spiders, I hate them. I can't get close enough to kill them. You have any idea how demasculating it is to go cry to your girlfriend to kill a freaking spider?... I do. It sucks, but them things scare the god out of me.

ChrisSlicks 03-14-2010 08:57 AM

I had a big furry one that used to live in my room. It was a hunter spider and didn't leave webs so I was cool with it for a while, figured it would eat any other creepy crawlies that go in. But one night when I was sleeping I felt something creeping up my leg, when I put my hand down all I felt was big furry spider. I'm pretty sure I left the bed in a vertical direction, and the spider went flying. Both of us were traumatized by the experience and I never saw the spider again.

:bowrofl:

But seriously, I hate spiders. I park my car under a tree at my house and for some reason once it warms up the tree fills up with these little white spiders. They are constantly dropping onto the car and they climb in while I drive with the windows down. I hate it. I once was trying to kill two of them in my car at the same time while driving down the road. I eventually just pulled over to the side of the road and went to town tearing the car apart to kill them.

CrownR426 03-14-2010 10:05 AM

Don't kill it, let it live!
Free it somewhere other than your house.

+1

I like spiders. I'm the spider caretaker in my house. My kids find a spider, I take it outside and let it go. I hear my wife scream, I come running to rescue the spider. They're usually harmless. I carry them outside in my hands.

elmz 03-14-2010 11:20 AM

Imagine sitting at a stop light when you suddenly see that little bugger behind the AC vent....hehe jk

Jessica 03-14-2010 11:45 AM

Spiders I can handle. Snakes, however, are a completely different story. If I even thought there was a snake in my car, I wouldn't drive it. At all. I would call in to work. I would starve if I had no food. I would not drive that car. I would need solid evidence that there was no snake in my car to even get within 10 feet of it.

frost 03-14-2010 12:14 PM

That's fuckin creepy. I don't think I'd drive it until I did a bug bomb in the garage.

m4a1mustang 03-14-2010 12:22 PM

I hate hate hate Spiders!

I have to tell you that I am scared shitless everytime I'm working underneath the car... I just know that a wolf spider is lurking somewhere, and those fuckers are so mean!!!

SmoothZ 03-14-2010 12:25 PM

I could think of a lot worse things than spiders, like centipedes and scorpions.

**** them all I say. :shakes head:

JACKPAC 03-14-2010 12:27 PM

The thing about spiders is; you are really more afraid of them than they are of you.

Did I say that right?

Yeah, I did!:D

I have a pet scorpion, they don't have the creepy factor spiders do.

Yup. Those bastards will charge you because they think it's ******* funny. They must reincarnate into the same damn spider too because they aren't afraid to die for a good laugh. :shakes head::shakes head::shakes head::shakes head::shakes head:

I live in New Jersey, the closest I come to seeing a Scorpion is if I look at my horoscope. I don't mind them though, they arn't as creepy as spiders. Wouldn't want one to be in my shoe anyway. I don't mind snakes, they don't bother me. But god do I hate spiders
