i might me over analyzing but..... in the mirrors it showed where jin and sun got married and it showed where sawyers parents funeral was... both are places where jacob touched them.. when it went by SHEPARD is showed jacks childhood home where he hadnt lived for years...... this is NOT where jacob touched him ....

it depends on if you think the two univereses will merge or if they are seperate and the sidways on just offers a look into their lives... if you believe they will merge it seems desmond might be traveling between the two at will as faraday said he is special and the rules dont apply to him" or he just could have well ...been on the plane... i know the actor who played him said in an interview he would be back on the island at some point... so who knows

i was just reading an interesting theory from entertainment weekely about the appendix scar.... not sure im on board with it but here goes...

if jack was around 7 years old in 1977 then maybe he collapsed at school the presice moment they detonated the bomb as somehow the two version of him merged and since he didnt have an appendix from juliet removing it on the island.. jacks ruptured as a form of course correction... also he would still have those repressed memories of all the events from the other life .. so that might explain the deja vu ??

just watched the part again with the lighthouse wheel... as they pass 114 YAMADA that is when you see the asian buildings... if so it looks like this is not the korean building where sun and jin got married but its japanese.... so i think is Dogen Yamada...

also i thought maybe that wasnt the church where sawyers parents funeral was after all but it indeed is.... might be an error but FORD is 15 on the wheel SHEPARD is 23 so they would have had to already pass jacks house on the wheel and then go back to it in order to see it... when jack starts turning the wheel toward his name it is in like the high 30's so how could the church pop up in the mirror?

LOL hahahahhahahah MC you make my day ... well ... so... here is my take... once they manage to get off the island (vis-a-vis the MIB foils jacobs plan and gets them out or they pick a guardian and the rest leave), they end up living the life shown in the "flash forward"...

So... help me remember this: who is a potential candidate who is not shown in the flash forward? Sayeed? Michael? Walt??? Are one of them the guardians? Or is the island abandoned all together?

^ it seems michael and walt wernt on 815 in the flash sideways.. (dawson is on the canidate list but its marked out walts last name is loyd and im not sure it was even on there) i think we can stop thinking about walt he is the only season 1 cast member who is confirmed not to be returning.. i think next week is a sayid centric episode but im not sure he can be a canidate anymore because of his infection/claimed status... the only names left not marked out are Shepard Jarrah reyes ford Kwon and Austen, and im thinking you can go ahead and mark Jarrah off that list....

i thought next week might be a sun/jin episode because of the title.. reference to episodes "house of the rising sun" and "lockdown"... but damon lindelof said it was a reference to the movie high noon where the sherrif makes his stand agaisnt the outlaws.... so i guess sayid stands up to MIB at the temple? i dunno

almost forgot to post this week, i liked the episode especially the last 10 mins.. i thought the sayid sideways drug on a little but it turned out to be important as he couldnt overcome his dark side in both worlds.... and it bridged into a jin storyline... i still dont know what these damn things are... i thought maybe a epilouge but after MIB offering sayid the ability to see nadia again... im thinking its more like how remember in the old twight light zones when the devil or whoever gave you what you wanted but it turned out to be sort of twisted.... also we saw dogen and his kid last episode and this episode we find out he came to the island so jacob would in turn bring his kid back but he could never see him again... well in the sideways the kid is alive so maybe there is some correlation here.. reminds me of ben telling juliet that jacob would cure her sister cancer if she stayed .. but then again ben never met jacob so it might have been a coincidence she was cured...like they found out she was cured and attributed it to jacob... getting back to the sideways flashes... i mean sayd did see nadia again but it wasnt how we thought it would be..... so does that have something to do with MIB's temptation? just a theory...

my only big question from the episode is i wonder why dogen was the reason MIB couldnt enter the temple and not the ash... or maybe the ash only has power when the temple master is living? like getting back to the chess or game piece analogy ..he was there to block jacobs opponet from advancing... well actually 2 questions.. dogen gave sayid the dagger knowing it wouldnt hurt MIB and he expected MIB to kill him but he didnt.... either because A) he cant kill canidates ( like sawyer) or B) he knew sayid was infected and was on his "team" my question is didnt dogen know that MIB cant kill canidates? sayid was on that list afterall but maybe thats not the canidate list because hurley had to tell dogen he was a canidate ....



this weeks is going to be a ben episode so im very excited about that.. as he is a tie for my fav character on lost..

i saw an interview with michael emerson and he teased at something crazy for later in the season..(not a spoiler so dont worry you can highlight it i promise i just made it white because some people dont even like to see ABC's promos for the next week ).he said episode 15 is going to be something never seen on television before... he said it takes place in a time and place never before seen in TV and the entire episode features none of the regular cast members!!! wow.. any guesses? im saying it has to be acient egypt dont you guys agree?

umm richard and the black rock together again , jack embracing his man of faith self, michael emerson was amazing tonight, ben making parallel choices with alex in the sideways, confirmation he left dharma before the island sunk ...... and widmore coming to the island im guessing to take MIB off the island.... i bet he was offered the same deal as MIB offered ben....... either that or they are gonna try to use Ajira 316

that was insanely awesome... the ending reunion scene with the music mirrored the episode when sawyer thought he was the leader then jack came back to the beach camp

it felt like an older episode of lost.... seriously maybe top 10 of all time on the show

yeah i was thinking that too when i saw the reunion scene. everything else was pretty predictable from my stand point. i kinda knew which direction it was going before it happened. i didn't have any "whoa!" moments tonight so it wasn't that good IMHO.

I agree, VERY good episode, there were a lot of moments where I was like OMG I cant believe that was just said.

By far my favorite of those moments was when we first see the principle, here is my reaction...."hey! is that the guy from ghostbusters?? (reply: yup) Wow thats soo cool!"

with team MIB going over to the Hydra island i think we might be close to seeing who juliet actually shot on the outrigger in season 5 when they time traveled ......

how cool was it when Jack, the man of science, finally took a leap of faith with that dynamite!!

was it a leap of faith, or a logical deduction that he was willing to risk? Jack did seem to realize Jabob had intentions for them all on a grand scale and that anything seemingly supernatural is possible. But at the same time... the way Jack acted as the fuze neared it's end seemed more like he had faith.

the writers of this show are great about leaving things so they can be interpreted many ways. it's very irritating because you cant always draw solid conclusions, but that's what keeps me coming back week after week.:icon14:

i mean i think it was indeed faith but it wasnt blind faith because he had obiously seen the lighthouse so he knew jacob had been watching him.. whatever jacob is doing it seems he is pushing them to the brink to see what choice they will make... the jack and the dynamite was just like how he never told richard the whole plan or even more importantly how jacob would never let ben see him and ben ended up failing that test of faith... according to miles jacob up until the last second had hoped ben would make a different choice... so that put a new spin on everything for me.. i had always thought jacob always knew that would happen, and while it appears he obviously has a back up plan it seemed he sincerely wanted ben not to do it ( not for his own life but for bens?)

i think jacob is indeed manipulating them but i think he sees so many steps ahead of them that its for an ultimate good that in the short term it seems he is decitful but i think he is all about the end game...... where MIB seems to be upfront and truthful but he is manipulating them for his own needs.. told claire he could get aaron back told sayid he could reunite her with nadia and sawyer that he can get him off the island.. and ben that he could run the island ( which if you go back and listen to bens napoleon speech, its mirrors this, basically he would be incharge of nothing it would be no real power

man you guys are great, I enjoy hearing all the different theories! Having a really fun/hard time trying to figure out if Jacob OR the smoke monster is the bad guy.. Hope most of my questions get answered BEFORE Widmore (sp) blows up the island with his sub LOL Then again if he is stopped or captured then the sub is a one way ticket out of Dodge!

It was cool to finally see him believe he was there for something other than "getting off the island". He fought Locke tooth-and-nail about the island not having a purpose, and now finally sees he was wrong.

I think we'll see a difference in Jack from this point in on.

been seeing more and more people share this theory and now i think im jumping on the band wagon aswell.. the sideways world flashes are the REAL timeline.. the past 5 seasons of lost aswell as the 6th on the island we have been watching have been an altered version of the original timeline.

in the "real" original time line Dharma comes to the island like usual and drills into the Swan area and releases electromagnetic energy that somehow sinks the island.. the world and our characters continue on with no influence of jacob or the island.....

jacob who wants to protect the island causes the altered timeline to save it, the one weve always thought was the original timeline.. 815 crashes.... all the events play out as shown. they travel back to 77 and detonate jughead which SAVES the island from sinking ( my proof is the failsafe key. dharma gets the idea for it from witnessing how the bomb contained the energy) and later causes the events which lead them to crash in the first place.... so they can well detonate jughead.... the caused themselves to crash and the island not to sink.....

if the 2 will literally converge or merge before the end of the show or is the sideways almost like a mini season 7 aftermath??? i have no clue yet... but the show has created characters like jacks son so i dont see them destroying that timeline

its almost like a paradox like the compass or even MIB looking like locke in that scene

MIB asks richard to give time traveling locke the compass in 2007 so he can give it back to richard in 1954.. MIB knows this will plant the seed in richards head that locke is special thus this is where his plan starts.. that will lead to taking lockes form and jacobs death..... but the paradox part is... MIB already has taken the form of dead locke when he asks richard to give the compass to time traveling locke... so in order for him to have taken the form of a dead locke... his plan has already had to have worked as the long drawn out manipulation of locke was complete as he had left the island died and returned...... so its a paradox or a infinite loop just like the compass itself.. the compass doesnt exist outside of the loop... it has no origin only handed from richard to locke back and forth in 07 and 54 over and over and over again

speaking of locke dying... since he was touched by jacob i guess hanging himself wouldnt have worked in the first place.... wonder if thats why ben burst into the room at that exact time....
