Benefits of going to the gym on a Saturday night: Hardly anyone is there. So allows me to take my time and focus on my workout.

Shortening my cutting phase by 1 month, as I've lost more weight than I had anticipated. Cutting out processed carbs and replacing with natural carbs (i.e. fruits/veggies) does some amazing things. The only down side with cutting is the muscle loss: bench/lifting numbers in terms of weight and reps have gone down.

Apparently I may be suddenly allergic to avocado :tiphat:

After eating it last night I got a tingly/itchy sensation under my tongue and in my throat after that. Didn't really notice any swelling if at all but still the sensation I described is typical of an allergic reaction. May have to test again today to be sure lol

We are doing well. Chris had more surgery on her one foot. Other than that and her Parkinson's. Everything is good. Flying out to San Diego Tuesday for the one grandson's gradation from Marine boot camp. Another crayon eater in the family. His uncle (oldest stepson) was a Scout sniper.

good to hear, hopefully she recovers quickly from that surgery..i wish they (the scientists/doctors) would find a cure for that horrible disease already. I cant imagine how hard its been on your family. if you're religious, try to stay in faith brother.

safe travels out there to san diego.

How many ya'll get to go to work in a hoodie and ratty gym shorts?

I'm trying to convince the powers that be that if it's good enough for Senators, it's good enough for us!

Not a hoodie/gym shorts, BUT, no more full suits. Instead, I get to wear pants/polo shirt and have NO physical people interaction.

"NYU Professor Galloway: Biden should raise minimum wage to $25"

No, you dumb@$$, he should NOT. While inflation, and subsequently the cost of living, has gone up, if you increase min. wage too high too fast, this will do more harm than good. You will severely cut employment AND you will have 1 person doing 4 people's jobs simultaneously.

EDIT: And this Galloway character is supposed to be a professor at one of the most prestigious schools in the country?

I didn't vote for the fat bastard. He's not far from where I live. As a mayor, he hardly attended any council meetings.

We can lose a 70M dollar fighter jet, but if I send $12 to a friend via Venmo I have 87,000 IRS agents looking.

Automation and robotics are quickly making a lot of jobs obsolete/much less manpower intensive. The writer’s strike in Hollywood is n part bc they’re afraid chtgpt will kill off their jobs. (And they’re not totally wrong).

Auto manufacturers are scrambling to try and force people to adopt a subscription based car ownership paradigm since EVs require so little maintenance and are less prone to costly repairs, the auto companies are losing/going to lose big time on the back end post sale.

Get ready for heated seats, only $30 per month etc. :shakes head:

I’ve been noticing a shift over the last 15 years, especially over the last decade where ownership of “stuff” has been made to seem passé and not necessary. But fundamentally, privately ownership of transportation, home, investments, etc is the bedrock, not just of capitalism, but of a free society. You can’t build wealth if you pay rent for all your sh1t.

Getting back to the car stuff, I’ll be fvcking pissed if I buy a car and have to pay a subscription fee to unlock features I paid for. Apparently Tesla (surprise surprise) already does this crap.

It’s a way for ev cars to bring in money post sale that’s been lost due to less maintenance that ICE cars need. Shitty.

You’re absolutely right about this “subscription” service.

I own a legit copy of the original Adobe Photoshop that still works on an old Apple IICI I bought in the late eighties/early nineties. Has 8 MEGS of ram and a 256K hard drive. Cost me $4500 with a scanner and a 25” monitor. Also included Photoshop, illustrator and quark express.

That’s right MEG and K!! LOL!

Flash to today, a copy of Photoshop costs $10 a month. I called them and asked how much to buy? They told me they don’t sell copies anymore. Subscription only. :shakes head:

The Rogue has auto start. They gave me a 6 month trial to Nissan Connect. It also has auto start from your phone which obviously works from anywhere instead of just line of sight.

$70 a year. Yea, thanks, but no thanks. There aren’t going to be to many times I need to start the car miles away from it.

There’s also a send to vehicle directions feature, but how many times a year am I going to use that?

Sadly everything is moving in this direction. Porsche is envisioning a near future where no one buys their cars, we just pay on a tiered subscription service and the higher the tier, the better cars are available to pick from and you rotate out of them every month. So we’re all driving used cars basically.

It’s being trialed ion select markets already iirc.

They’re selling it like it’s a good thing cause you get variety and can switch out based on needs, ie sports car this month, next month an suv for hauling things. :shakes head:
