It was a somewhat quite 4th and 5th. Not a lot of fireworks going off this year. Seems like when fireworks were illegal. There was a lot more of them. LOL

Washed the cars today. Finally used the Turtle Wax Ceramic Graphene paste wax. I've always used liquid waxes and this is my first time using a paste wax. I've been reading that less is more when it comes to product application, and that too much of it would require alot of unnecessary effort to buff out. I thought I used minimal, but still required some elbow grease to wipe down.

Amazon Prime Day has some great deals on torque wrenches and ordered a few. Don't really see the point in recalibrating the ones I have when it would be cheaper to buy new ones?

I've been putting off oil changes on the Z and the bike.

Get crackalacking. I finished up a couple hrs ago. It was hot, LOL. I forgot to order axles seals and hub seals, so I skipped installing the rotors. Calipers are still good. No issues pushing the pistons back in.

I pulled a Rusty. Guy was being a jerk to everyone on the diesel forum. So I set the bait and hook. He took it and is now banned. LOL, Thanks Rusty for giving me your bad habits. LOL

I once went almost 1.5 year without an oil change. Granted, this was pre-CSC replacement and the oil only had 200 miles on it.

Decided to unpack the grill for dinner and use it for the first time since the move a year ago. Did some pork belly and burgers, and ended up watching all 3 Rush Hour movies. The 2nd one always gets me, esp. the Chris Tucker karaoke scene: "Ja mon Lee...ja mon, ja mon....I'll be right back, I'll be right baaccckk" :rofl2::rofl2:

With the exception of bathroom breaks, gym, and shower (probably about 4 hours combined), I've pretty much have been in one of the guest rooms and watching Netflix for almost the past 20 hours.

Rewatching "White Collar" and "Suits" for probably the 10th time. How awesome would it be if they had a crossover series, where Harvey teamed up with Peter and Mike with Neal, and then to add a twist, if they also crossed over with "The Office" team, specifically Michael, Dwight, and Stanley.

Glad I kept my older diesel truck. Boy are guys having issue that try to use them as short trip daily drivers. What a disaster. I had to drive my 2019 for two weeks until I had time to do the rear brakes. Dang thing regened twice, and I didn't short trip it that much. The excessive regens cause fuel dilution in the oil which causes all kinds of other problems with the hydraulic lifters. Folks that use them as intended towing all the time have very good luck with the emission junk. What a nightmare.

Whether gas or diesel, my understanding is short drives (i.e. anything less than 15 miles and getting the engine to operating temps) are bad and can cause cylinder washdown.

vtec to vvel 07-18-2025 05:11 PM

Past few days have seemed to clump together, as I woke up around 11.00 AM not knowing what day it was. Now that I got my beauty sleep, time to continue binge-watching Netflix.

Nah, this is emissions stuff. DPF and SCR, etc. None of that stuff is on gas vehicles. I wish it wasn't on my truck. Pain in my butt.
