By my calculations, I have reached the point where I have more parts actually installed on the Z than parts sitting around awaiting install. As long as you don't count each individual suspension bushing lol

My 86 year old father passed away on January 8th after being taken to the hospital on New Year’s Eve. As the executor of the estate I had pull together all of the arrangements and, with 8 siblings, you can only imagine it was a bit overwhelming.

But I’m back now......... so what did I miss ? :bowrofl:

So sorry to hear that.

That would be my mom and then she would take the wrench from you and complete your project for you. One my memories of my when I was kid she dropped the tranny out our station wagon and repaired it because we didn't have money for a mechanic to do it.

Yep.......tetnus, whooping cough, and rabbies.

When did they start making you get shots before seeing a newborn?

old guy 01-13-2021 07:31 PM

Thank you guys
your kind words honestly mean so much, even Jar’s comment made me :rofl2:

My dad’s health was pretty good up until about 3 months ago then things seemed to go pretty fast. I made it a point to spend every Sunday afternoon and dinner with him and enjoyed every minute of it.

I had an 18ft fishing boat for 15 yrs. and we would go fishing weekly from spring till fall.
In the 1960s my dad bought a hundred acre hunting property and we would go hunting almost every weekend from September until November, and although I quit hunting in my late teens I would always make it to deer camp just to hangout.
Dad wasn’t in good shape this year but he still made it, I wasn’t able to because I was in contact with someone who tested positive for the COVID and didn’t want to take the chance, but I was happy he did.

If you’re parents are starting to age out, spend some quality time with them you won’t regret it.

:iagree: the one Kindig-it did was a lot better if you're comparing tv builds

This one had a more interesting story. After the customer bought it, the car carrier he hired caught fire and all the cars got crispy.

But I'm with you. I prefer everything Dave designs. Plus, he's a VW guy which always scores points with me. I think I'm going to install a set of his door handles on my Ghia.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...dc58e53064.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...8c737ad107.jpg

Me too. But probably couldn't afford it back then. If I remember they were about $89 where as a new non-Schwinn was about $59 at the time or something.

I got the clone model... But I turned out okay.... Uh, didn't I?... :ugh2:

Dad told ma about this bicycle he bought back in 1950 or maybe 51, was a Black Phantom by Schwinn....seemed like it was 50 or 60$, can’t remember right off. But had a paper route & saved up his money to buy
He can still to this day tell you every detail about it :icon17:
I’ll have to ask this morning otw to work about the year & cost
