Riddle me this fellerZ. It's obvious to me when I push the brake in and press the start button that the car doesn't know that I have the brake pressed,

Riddle me this fellerZ. It's obvious to me when I push the brake in and press the start button that the car doesn't know that I have the brake pressed, because it goes into the accessory and then on position without starting and the brake icon is on the display just like it would normally if you were powering it on without starting it. Does anyone know offhand how the car knows I'm pressing the brake? Is there just a little simple switch under there by the pedal?
