Looting...
To whom it may concern,
Who the hell is George Floyd? Sincerely, The “Protesters” |
The man's name is George Floyd.
And, while there certainly some people taking advantage of this tragedy(and it's not just black folks), the vast majority are indeed protesting the murder of yet another unarmed black man...this one happened to already be handcuffed and in police custody. I suggest you watch the entire 10 minute video recorded by a bystander. These protests are not just about George Floyd. They about Briana Taylor, Aubrey Ahmad, Philando Castile, Botham Jean, Tamir Rice and many, many others. BTW, The Minneapolis PD has a long history of white cops abusing black and brown people and, the cop who pressed his knee and full body weight onto Mr. Floyd's neck for 10 mins. (for 3 minutes AFTER Mr. Floyd was unresponsive), has 18 serious complaints filed against him. |

It’s criminal, and should be treated that way. End of story. |
Minneapolis protester warns the unrest will hit the suburbs next because there is 'nothing left here' as thousands ignore city curfew and take to the streets in fourth night of disturbances
I’m ready when you are... Rosa Parks and MLK are rolling over in their graves. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...urbs-next.html |
Bad apples in every and any group, whether it's the protester or the cops. Sucks.
I believe the one cop is being charged with manslaughter. Unsure about the others. What I don't understand is, how come none of the other cops try to calm that one cop down, be like "hey that's enough, gotta ease off".... |

Look at the **** going on is San Jose. I don't give 2 fvcks what you are protesting if you block the highway and attack my car I'm running your *** over twice. These people are not protesting any more they are attacking other citizens. They are a mob and should be treated as such.

Looting and burning should be equally prosecuted by the law. They had the opportunity to punish those police officers but they have turned the hatred and sympathies of majority of Americans against the people of Minnesota who Equally violated the law. Evil took advantage of another evil. Opportunity missed...people of Minnesota for obtaining justice and now the hammer of law will befall on to you. |
They fuckin damaged the COLLEGE FOOTBALL HALL OF FAME!! That's not protesting :shakes head:

From what I have been reading and seeing, the vast majority of the people getting violent are not protestors. Many of them have come from other towns and states to foment violence.
I didn't see what happened before Mr. Floyd was pinned down, so I really can't comment on whether or not the officer's actions were warranted. But, if the officer who killed him is guilty of 3rd Degree Murder (similar to manslaughter) as charged, the three other officers were, at the very least, not "protecting and serving" and very possibly aiding-and-abetting, accessories, or whatever the legal term would be. |
Let me make this clear, looting/rioting is NOT protesting. If you disagree with the government and want your views to be known, by all means, protest your heart out.... carry signs, march, chant some cute little rhymes. IDGAF, thats free speech, and thats what I and other veterans served and fought for your right to do so.
But when you vandalize, burn and steal from local businesses, inflict bodily harm on others, you are a thug. Covid has hurt the small business owners as it is, not to mention the people they employ, and when I see them being vandalized, looted and burned.... |

A firing squad would be too good for this so-called officer :gtfo2: |

I believe this is a case of excessive force, or aka police officer can't reign in his own emotion. For fxck sake, the officer had his knee on the guy's neck/face, while having one hand in his pocket....so don't tell me the suspect wasn't already under control. |
Yes, the looters suck and some innocent folks are getting hurt.
People will take advantage when they see an opportunity. I saw plenty of white people looting too...Just as I did in the L.A. riots in 1992. I know it's hard for many to even understand the amount of anger these folks are feeling. This isn't about 1 handcuffed black man being killed by cops. This is about 400 yrs of abuse, terror and death. When people took a knee in silent protest after Tamir Rice, Trayvon Martin and others, they were labeled Anti-American and traitors and NOTHING changed. When people see that carrying signs, marching, chanting some cute little rhymes (wow, you really showed some class) doesn't change things, then what? THIS! How many of you have been pulled over and had guns drawn on you because you looked like you didn't belong in that neighborhood or didn't look like you should be driving the car you're driving? How many of you have been followed around a store while you were just shopping? How many of you have been chased down and had guns pulled on you because you looked like you up to no good? Unless you've lived your life in fear just because of your skin color, it's hard to understand how these folks feel. I get it, I'm a white guy...well, Italian/Spanish/Welch but, I've had people do horrible things to me and my family because they thought my Italian mother was Mexican. We were living in Springfield, MO. in the late 1970's. Me (long hair and tanned), my mom (a small, dark haired woman) and her Blond, blued eyed husband (my stepdad). I came home one day and found our 2 cats and 2 dogs had been poisoned and were dead. The people who did it, left a note on our door saying MEXICANS GET OUT!!! I wanted to burn the entire town to the ground, instead, we just moved away. So, yeah, I'm a bit more sympathetic to the plight of these people. I'm sorry to those of you who simply can't imagine what these people feel because you've never been made to feel the way they do. Flame away! |

I'm not trying to say the officer acted properly or not - just that I haven't seen all the evidence. My gut feeling is that the officer unnecessarily killed someone, but I'm in no position to say for sure. If he is guilty, all three four are.
Edited: Should be obvious where |

There needs to be quick and speedy trial. Not a kangaroo curt but we won't be able to move beyond the protests and the violence until it is done. We are nation divided and that is not about Black, White, Red, Yellow or Brown. It is about power and money. We are all being manipulated. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk |

Have you seen the several videos, from different angles? They're online. In all that I've seen, I've not seen one that showed Mr. Floyd resisting. The most devastating video is 10 mins. long and was taken by a young girl. 4 cops on on top of him, he's cuffed, face down on the pavement. The cops are telling him to get up and get in the car but, HE CAN'T MOVE, he's pinned to the ground. It was almost as though they were taunting him. He's crying out, because he can't breath and not one cop says or does a damn thing. Why didn't they just put him in the car? 7 mins in, Mr. Floyd becomes totally unresponsive yet, the cop kept his full body weight pressing down on Mr. Floyd's neck for the last 3 mins, with his hand comfortably tucked into his pocket as people begged him to get off. Mr Floyd has a little girl who will have to live the rest of her life not only without her daddy but, with the awful images of him dying on camera as people begged for the cops to stop. My heart breaks for her. BTW, the cop pressing his knee into Mr. Floyd's neck has at least 18 complaints filed against him for abusive behavior toward people of color. This makes me want to believe his intent was clear...He wanted to kill Mr. Floyd. |

Those doing those things are in the minority. The majority are there for the right reasons. There're always punks that use these events for their own agenda. |
Not defending bad behavior as this could have all been avoided if the cops simply did their job. I feel for my brothers in blue. Bad cops put them all at risk and their jobs are hard enough as it is.

It certainly looks like the officer is in the wrong, but I've seen a lot of things that turned out to be different than what they first appeared to be. I'm willing to wait until all the evidence is in. If an investigation/trial shows he is guilty, I would not be against a sentence of capital punishment - and the officers that stood by and did nothing are culpable as well.

Don't get me wrong I am not about fighting evil with evil but with extreme righteousness. The bad actors are just that and then there are thos that are just tiered of it all. How many of us have to die before real change occurs. I can tell you so many stories of what I have witnessed, prejudice being aimed at my parents and myself. I have heard their stories. My dad was born in 1906 so his stories and lessons ring loud in my ear. My grandmother on my mom's side also told us of her experiences. Even with all of that my parents thought me and two brothers to judge people as we would want to be judged and that is by our character. It is why I love this forum. We are as diverse as the country we live in and love and community abound. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk |

Honestly if the Covid19 was actually true that it was engineered by humans! I hope they can engineer it to only choose the stupid, the scams of the earth, the one who doesn’t contribute to the betterment of society. This world would be a better place to live in. I fear for the future of my kids...I do not know what the future lays ahead for the next millennial generation. Is this the life we will have for the rest of our life wearing mask... no faces...no human touch...no human physical interaction all will be confined inside a TV tube. I hate to say this Maybe human race deserves the Virus... but sadly it doesn’t choose which one to infect. I miss my races...my car meets...hugging my kids. |
I wish we can all live again in the 60’s 70’s and 80’s etc.
Life was fun and easy. Even amidst darkness...the light still shines brighter..,, This generation is the reverse. Darkness is sweeping all over the globe. |

There was no deadly threat, therefore no reason to use deadly force.
I don’t care if George Floyd said the most obscene things to the officers, nor if he resisted going into the police car. George Floyd carried no weapons, cuffed, had multiple officers surrounding him. The only thing that matter was George Floyd was under control, and the officer continued to exercise a deadly restraining method. Disclaimer: Just my opinion. I do respect others’ that differ from mine on this topic. |

Protesting is one thing. This is no longer about protesting. This is mob riots, anarchists, and antifa driving everything now. They are using the death of George Floyd as a cover to cause mayhem. Look at St. Louis riots a couple of years ago. Same thing. With everyone being locked up because of the virus. People being up set about that. This just needed a trigger for things to explode. And they got it.
