Since his comments were in a thread about the looting currently going on in many cities, I fail to see how using "GF" is anything but a typing shortcut. But I can't see into his head so it is possible that he was being "disingenuous." Going by his previous posts, I'm guessing not.

Just to play The Devil's Advocate: Why didn't you chide him for using "MLK"? At this point in time, Mr. Floyd is just as famous as Mr. King.

We have a street in my town the was renamed to MLK. I still refer to the street by it's old name. Not because I don't think that Mr. King deserves to have a street named after him but because I knew the street by its old name for about 40 years and it is firmly implanted in my brain as such.

We also have a street named after Robt. E. Lee*. If they change the name, as some want to do, I will continue to call it REL. Not because I think Mr. Lee deserves to have a street named after him, but because that's what I've known it as for 60+ years.

Maybe he didn't comment on your other points because he agreed with them. Maybe not. Once again, I can't see into his head but, based on his prev posts, I'm willing to go with the former until I see different.


*Edit: I spelled out REL's name the first time because, in this context, it is not obvious who REL is.
