Well then I empathize to your soul! Like I said I do not condone the manner how he was treated while conducting what should have been a lawful arrest. No human being deserves to die or be killed in such manner. Justice is being served rightfully. Due process is being served. But to use GF death to instigate civil unrest, looting and burning of business establishments , promoting hatred and violence to other men in uniform and victimizing peace loving citizen is utterly a disgrace and equally deserving the punishment of the law. Did you empathize to the business owners who's stores got looted and destroyed...To the people who got hurt and injured during the riot? Did you see or hear as well the cry of these people calling for mercy or even their call for their late mother as their livelihood got burned and looted...or you see them just another victim of the preceding circumstances ..obviously It didn’t capture your attention as much as it doest merit such big spectacle as the event you empathized! |
Those that want to burn and loot are part of the problem as much as the lack of action amongst those that watch bad peoples do bad things and do nothing.
I’ll take saving a life over saving a business everyday of the week. Justice is being served rightfully? Due process is being served? Both were FORCED to happen due to video. How many videos do you need to see of those in uniform, paid by citizens, threatening and attacking those that are not doing any of the things that you laid out? And for you to write of the long *** diatribe and still refuse to even type out GEORGE FLOYD’s name is disingenuous. |

You rather save life over saving business all day of the week? I really need to empathize on how you think! How do you get your resources to sustain your life?...please enlighten me so I will understand you better. Also Type your full name here so I will know you too. |

And nice of you to gloss over the other points I presented in my post.
People make businesses run, not the other way around. I stand by my previous statement. Employees that are treated well make up the best places to work. Because they feel valued. Now replace 'business' with 'United States of America' and 'employees' with 'citizens'. |

Just to play The Devil's Advocate: Why didn't you chide him for using "MLK"? At this point in time, Mr. Floyd is just as famous as Mr. King. We have a street in my town the was renamed to MLK. I still refer to the street by it's old name. Not because I don't think that Mr. King deserves to have a street named after him but because I knew the street by its old name for about 40 years and it is firmly implanted in my brain as such. We also have a street named after Robt. E. Lee*. If they change the name, as some want to do, I will continue to call it REL. Not because I think Mr. Lee deserves to have a street named after him, but because that's what I've known it as for 60+ years. Quote:
*Edit: I spelled out REL's name the first time because, in this context, it is not obvious who REL is. |
Granting GF a day to memorialize him on the same day as MLK, is a disservice to what MLK had done and what he stood for.
GF did not deserve to die for whatever crime he committed, and those responsible for his death certainly need to be held accountable. However, GF was NOT an angel. If you think he needs to be put onto a pedestal, ask the lady he held at gun point while she was robbed if she feels the same way. My memory isnt the greatest these days, but Im fairly certain that the great MLK never committed any crimes even remotely close to that. |
No worries guys. I'm done in here.
It was fun that we came together over a car, but it is obvious that we are far apart on our views and values on human life and the justice and equality that they deserve. |

So far, I haven't seen anybody say anything that even remotely indicated that they did not value all lives. Just because somebody doesn't think a particular person deserves a holiday named after them doesn't mean they don't value that person's life - just that they are not the extra-special type of person that does deserve it. Good luck in your bubble/echo-chamber. |
I think Candace Owens said it best. "No question officer Chauvin committed a crime. I hope George Floyd's family gets justice. But Floyd held a gun to the belly of a pregnant woman...he is neither a martyr or a hero"

This is the stuff that clouds our ability to have a cogent conversation about the inhumanity of humans against other humans. The fact is that prejudice and bias is in human DNA. It occurs in all cultures throughout the world. In many cultures it acceptable right, wrong or indifferent however in America through our journey we have proclaimed that all are created equal and should be treated as such. The treatment of Blacks as second class citizens or as animals is steeped in our history regardless of a single person's behavior. Black people continue to be treated less than in this great country and our continuing struggle together is to narrow that gap for all citizens. The reality is that as much as try there always will be the have and have nots. How we decided to live together share resources, appreciate what each culture or race has to offer the better we will thrive together. George Floyd may not be extra ordinary but his death is in what it represents to the senseless killings of people of color that continues today.
I appreciate the conversation and all the points of view and prospectives by you all that willing to speak up and try to understand it all. It is difficult for me as well as Black person that has experienced bias, prejudice and great love and support from White people and others. It is what breaks my heart and gives me hope! DON'T STOP TALKING as it has lead to this!!! We have given up to degree because it is hard, we have given up because we think enough has been done, we have given up because Blacks will never be satisfied, we have given up because some Blacks have taken advantage of whatever. We must not give in to all the noise that surrounds the conversation of how do we continue to struggle and strive to be better together. Much Love and Respect! We keep letting these police brutality escalate, the more of these videos/protests/riots we are going to see. This is not just about color either (although the people of color are more impacted by it for sure), but the escalation has got to stop. On the other hand, tougher punishments for the offenders would help too. Why are we being nice to people who keeps more of the same? This will burn out after another week or two, but it won't take long before it happens again. Matter of fact, it is bound to happen. The wealth gap is going to get even bigger after this virus. The country's leadership is poor. The media is driving people to the extreme either way. We are so screwed. |

Lets put everything in proper prospective just because I didn’t see the way you see things Mr Sierra you insinuate that Im not empathic about the whole situation.
Just because I didn’t type the full name of GF Im branded as disingenuous? Who is stereotyping or profiling now? You talk high and mighty about equality and value of life.. When you can’t even respect my own opinion about it..but you have to insinuate that Im an apathetic human being. So are you saying to have equality in society I have to agree to what your beliefs and values in life? I have to agree on what matters to you most? So you can stay in this forum? What I saw in the videos is a human being being abused with excessive force by another human being! That is unacceptable, deplorable and demeaning as humans, unworthy of any emulation. Just because I do not agree and have the same emotion as you have on the situation. You refuse to dine with me on the table and enjoy a decent meal as brothers? We want reforms...we want change....we want equality...we want justice...we want everything! Its always “what can I have” ... but never “what I can give” to make this world a better place for both of us even in different culture, different color, different language you name it... Life is hard its never easy...but it doesn’t give you the right to commit a crime because you have nothing...You have nothing because you dont know the meaning of what is giving. It doesn’t give you the right to burn down business, loot stores, burn cars because your angry...you’ve been abused! Besides no Life was lost?!! Wow and that’s acceptable to you? You rather save Life! I always knew the greatest gift is the right to Choose what Life you want to live. But You rather steal...sell drugs...buy cigarettes with counterfeit $20 bills and justify its ok because I have nothing....I deserve to get that away from you because you have more!.....because Im a victim of life's hardship.. Unfortunately another Criminal in uniform ( an Animal a blood hungry Animal) comes by and caught up with another criminal....guess what happens? End of story. You know I wake up at 4am because I like to My yard to look good so I water it so it would look green and healthy so that all my neighbors would love to see my environment would be pleasant and be admired ..I took the sacrifice of making it better not just for me but for other humans to play and even attract neighbors dogs to poop on it...its ok I clean it..,to me that is a compliment. But some how weeds keeps on sprouting on my beautiful yard....trying to suffocate my beautiful centipede grass... what do you think I need to do with the weeds! In order to maintain my green grass nice for everyone to enjoy! Would I allow it to get destroyed by weeds? You tell me Mr. Sierra... I respect you and I will follow your sound advice! |
Hey........wait a minute! You can't use the word "deplorable" in you post!. Because that's what Hillary called me at the last election. A deplorable.

And nitpicking abbreviations on the internet? Really? |
The Chicago mayor is begging Walmart and other large retailers not to leave. Walmart is deciding which stores not to reopen at the moment. A few of the other retailers told her that there is a good chance that they will not reopen some stores too because of the riots, and that she did nothing to protect the stores. They can't operate in that type of environment.

Now Former employees of Walmart good citizens, good tax payers ... will join the numbers of unemployment ....would suffer and default in paying their rent ...paying thier cars.... paying credit cards.... no xmas toys for their kids this year....would probably resort to petty crimes to survive...a good citizen who eventually turn into an animal...,and the cycle goes on.... No life has been taken .... only businesses!!! Lets move on to riot for equality, peace and unity across America! The Land of the Brave and of the free looting! Im gonna water my yard this morning...bring my roundup and my AR15 cane. |

It would be pretty ignorant to deny the fact that Mr. Floyd is very (in)famous (worldwide no less) at this point. ;) I was merely pointing out that using abbrevs, initialisms, and acronyms in a post on The Intertubes is very common and not disrespectful. Yes, really. |
Well, at least something positive came of Floyd’s death. Apparently, he found the cure for Covid-19.
|
Kinda weird I never heard of this incident until today. I guess since it’s a “white on white” crime, the media doesn’t care... sad, really...

Reading through all of this, can't quote it all.
Life Every life is precious, I'm a God loving man, I don't think He would put a life on this earth without reason. I'm only 29, but I've realized everything happens for a reason, good or bad, whether we know that reason is on us. We either have to come to a understanding and if we don't then it's a friendly reminder that we are only human. As humans we are flawed, we never will be perfect yet we constantly strive for perfection. Noah's ark, Adam and Eve, The Tower of Bable, Worshipping the golden calf heck the list goes on how humans can turn on a dime when it comes to good/bad, right/wrong etc. He did not deserve to die like that, nor does he deserve to be glorified and have a day named after him etc. You want a day named after you? Earn it. His death is sad and I hope he's in a better place and I hope God gives his family the strength needed to get through this life. Perspective Look at what's happening in parts of Africa how the "white man" is getting there farmland stripped of them due to their skin color. Where's the white lives matter march? In China, Chinese Muslims (Urumqi region) are beign slaughtered and "re educated" by the thousands. Where's the Muslim Chinese lives matter march? Funny thing (due to hypocrisy) is that some Muslims are always foaming at the mouth about Palestine this and Palestine that... Apparently only ARAB MUSLIM lives matter. . . But when it comes to Chinese Muslims, no one gives a rats ***, no one Muslim nation is standing up to China about. Why? Because China is the cash man, and who doesn't love cash? Look at Pakistan. Always talking about how India treats its 200 million Muslim MINORITY like crap. Yeah, sure. That's why India had a Muslim President. Never seen a non Muslim president/high ranking official in Pakistan that wasn't a Muslim. . . Where is Pakistan's Prime Minister ridiculing China's approach to their Muslim minority? He won't talk down to them because China is funding Pakistani projects and giving them massive loans, which by the way, will crush them. The basis here is, all lives matter, we should not pick and choose, we should stand against injustice no matter who it is against. When we pick and choose, it makes the movement, in my eyes, weak because it's focusing on a certain group. Photo in thread with Chinese flag and asking for their help It baffles me how idiotic some people are, it really does. My aunt is Vietnamese and tells me the horrors of communism. How it took her fathers hotel businesses, stripped them of everything, and forced them to flee. They had to go on a boat and travel to Thailand. Her sister was on another boat during a storm while fleeing, it sunk. . . took may lives with it. Communism does not work. I do not hate Chinese people, well not all, I get along with some but not all, but that goes for anyone. The Chinese government I don't trust and want gone, they're scum bags the whole lot of them. People who stand for the Chinese government make me laugh. Go to China, speak against them, you and your family will dissapear faster than the memory of Liberals regarding Justin Trudeau and his black face and SNC Lavalin scandal. Communism = bad. Show me a communist country, that follows the ideology to the "T" and is successful like the U.S, Canada, U.K and Australia. No ideology is perfect, but Democracy beats Communism any day. Also... The WHO is trash, the U.N is trash as well. Here's a good clip, enjoy. |

Again I say police brutality is not be condoned and it must be given the highest punishment of the law in my opinion. But going in line to your statement Im just wondering if media would pick on this and if it also garner world wide protest? What if the police officer was also Black, of course the argument would say Oh a black man would not do that to another back man. I understand..but for the purpose of argument. You saw 2 human beings of the same color. Im sure there are black policemen as equally abusive as white policemen. Again I say not all policemen are abusive! Would this be a case of a hate crime or its just a police brutality case...how is media would run it on the news so it will also garner much attention and create anger and riots around the world? Would it be easy to garner much attention as the one we currently have? Or let say the policeman was a chinese or Japanese (American) or Mexican would it garner hate riots towards the Chinese, Mexican and the Japanese Americans? Or another situation...the policeman was Black and the one on the ground gasping for air is a white man. Would white men go out in riots and protesting “White lives Matter”? Maybe yes...they have the right to do that as citizens of America. In closing: All human beings around the world are suffering and experiencing police brutality...injustice...prejudices.... bullying....torture.... poverty....Covid19 This is the reality! Would be ok to say “All human Life Matters”??? There was a slogan in the rioters “ If your neutral about the situation you just took side of the oppressors” I ask who are the oppressors???....the whites....the yellow...the brown....the blacks??? One was chanting end the racism!!!! If you want racism to end it should start from you...stop looking at my color and stop calling me as my color...stop calling me by my religious beliefs...stop calling me because of my culture....stop treating me indifferently because of my skin color!!! I am a human being with a God given name.! Maybe Racism would be taken out of Webster dictionary as part of everyone language! But of course I live in America! |

There’s a guy who likes to tell racist jokes to the staff and some members of my golf club. He actually thinks that he’s not a racist because he tips well and “is only joking around”. He has no idea how much they despise him. So, bottom line is racists exist, and I’m afraid always will. It’s taught. Nobody comes out of the womb hating someone because of their skin color. Personally, I don’t judge people by their color, religion, ethnicity, sexual gender, or sexual preference. I judge people on whether they’re azzholes or not. |

They treat me well and do the same.., one even calls me his brother he never had...so dont think at any point Im racist.... as Im proud of my skin and I know where I came from ...I proud of my heritage! True story ...my first day at work in America coming from a foreign country! I White red neck asked me over our daily meeting “ Hey how does a poodle (dog ) taste like? I said well taste like a mixed of chicken and pork! Every body laugh!!! Now we are best buddies he respect me and I respect him.. For the first time they said he never invited anyone to his house but He invited my family to dine with his family during Thanksgiving! You see we can get along together. I didn’t take offense on what he said about my culture. Why will I get offended of something is true about me?!! The only thing I hate being with my African American friends I’ll always in a disadvantage in any type with regards to Sizes!!! Lol But Im cool...I know how to use it...that matters most!!! Lol:tup: |
Bob,
Im sure Rusty would say Zoren your also at Disadvantage in any sizes with Whites which way you want it!!! Oh yeah I’ll say you know what ...I know Kung Fu and I can break your Trigger! |
