It's all good in the trades. We can go up to 6' before having to tie off.

At the plant was 6ft for new construction. 4ft for repair. But stilts is another story.

Looking at doing about a 4:12 pitch & doubling the rafters over the post....then running purlins between them

Why do t you just temporarily deck the ceiling. Then you can use it as a working surface. That would just leave the last bay to deal with and you could probably deck that from up top. The. You just need the ladder to get down.
