Hey I'm with ya and wish he did listen to his advisors, as well as observing what has happened in other places of the world to be better prepared.

However, at the same token, I also do think the spreading of the this virus is inevitable. No matter how many restrictions the government places, if the people don't follow them, then all the efforts were essentially for nothing. Can't blame Trump or the government for the millennials thinking they are invincible and gathering among the masses on the Florida beaches for spring break. A lot of people are not staying in nor keeping the social distance measures. Hell, someone else posted earlier about a dude in the New England area where he went to a public convention KNOWING he had the COVID-19 virus.

I would say this, some good things did happen. The travel ban for one. That one thing prevented us from becoming Italy right at this moment. It would of been 10 times worse. First infection in the USA was January 21st. The travel ban was implemented January 31st. I would also suggest this. Watch all of the Corona19 briefings yourself. The whole thing. Some news agencies only report on snippets that supports their agenda. Once you do that you will see exactly what I am talking about. We were slow out the gate, not denying that.

Was talking with a friend at the power plant tonight. He said that if this virus gets worse. The plan is for the workers to live at the power plants. This is nation wide. Some plants are stocking food and bedding. When I was at the plant. We kept a couple of cots, sleeping bags, a weeks worth of food plus some other odds and ends on hand at all times is case of bad weather or something else.

After doing some research to find out for myself what happened I can say this. On Saturday 3/14/20 the CDC said it was OK for a gathering of 250 people or more. On Sunday 3/15/20 they then changed it to a gathering of 50 people or more, then on Monday that was again changed to a gathering of 10 people or more. The video you saw was taken on Saturday 3/14/20 of the spring breakers on the beach. That has since been put an end too. The folks on the beach were not Millennials. They were Generation X, whatever they call them. This virus does infect and can kill the younger people. The wrong narrative was being given out by the news media. Trying to find the truth with all this bad information and fear mongering is tough. Just remember, believe non of what you hear and only half of what you see. Folks are starting to get it now. About time.

Where I work, they will bring me food, water, and a 45kw generator to my house and keep it fueled. I am lucky, T-Mobile takes dang good care of us and our families.

I see that coming in a few places.

I'm no fan of Trump and believe some of his (in)actions have made things worse, but I don't think we can blame all of the delayed/fubared response on him, specifically, or the federal government, in general. We and the rest of the world weren't as well prepared as we could (should) have been. And then there's the thing about We The People aren't co-operating very well. It doesn't help that we are getting confusing (and sometimes conflicting) advice from the government (that part I feel comfortable blaming on POTUS).

The only sure way to limit the effects of the virus is to declare martial law and have the National Guard and police agencies enforce quarantines - probably not the best overall solution. And certainly not an option I would want to see exercised by the current Administration.

YMMV
