Picked up a new tailgate grill for the work truck. My old one had been held together with a couple bent nails and some tie wire for almost a year..

Burn some burgers and dogs last night at the hotel and just cooked some chops and eggs for the guys on site this morning: yum:

You don't have to be much of a prepper to get through a few weeks or months. You just have to prepare in advance.

Keep some rice, beans, and other dry food on hand. That will keep your stomach happy; add some spices to your stash to keep your mouth happy. Put in freezer for a few days to kill any insects that may be present (there are more than you may want to think about) that could eat your food, then store in airtight containers. I put mine in Mason jars.
Keep some extra water on hand for cooking. Plus pots and a camping stove with fuel. I have a Coleman stove that runs on white gas and another that runs on propane.

Have a means of providing heat that won't kill you. Propane heaters work well for this. A properly maintained one will emit very little CO (you still need to ventilate the room) and can keep a room warm all night on a small bottle of propane. I keep a Little Buddy heater and propane bottles in the closet for power outages during the Winter.

If you take medications, you'll need enough to get you through the emergency.

Yes, keep a good supply of TP. It's not really a Life Or Death necessity but it's nice to have. The stuff has an almost infinite shelf life and is cheap - stock up during the "good" times.

Just buying time until a viable vaccine is produced.

Believe me the vaccine is there but the number of infected are not yet so high to be profitable enough to make Billions of dollars. I hope Im wrong.

As this virus is nothing like humans have defeated in the past.

The reason why they cant roll out the vaccine is because WHO and CDC has not have enough test subjects to see if the vaccine would have long term side effects on humans.

No pharmaceutical company would want to end up with a big law suit on there hands.

Releasing new vaccine or medicines takes years of testing with guinea pig subjects then to actual humans.

I believe the threat is real. But people reacted the wrong way.
America is not even prepared to test all Americans for the virus. Anyone can be carrier now thus the lock down to contain the spread of the virus.

Anybody can have it now but no signs and symptoms. The real danger is if you infected an elderly individual with other comorbid problems such as respiratory issues. You can potentially kill that individual.

But a young individual without any hx of chronic illness can actually fight the virus and keep dormant just the way you fight a common flu.

What the bigger effect of this FEAR??? Im more afraid of the economic impact of this issue than the actual mortality rate of the virus.

Im a healthworker and Im potentially vulnerable to the virus. But does it scare me yes! Does it makes me panic? Most definitely not.

Like I said be smart and vigilant. Stay at home if your sick. Wash your hands. Stay at unless you really need to go out. Stay away from known sick people.
If your sick wear mask.

Simple hand washing kills more bacteria than hand sanitizer and thats a rsearch CDC proven fact. Health workers only use hand sanitizer if water and soap is not available. So dont panic.

Honestly simple vinegar and luke warm water would disinfect and kill most bacteria alone. As long your ok with the stench of the vinegar. Put lemon into it.
Another product that can kill bacteria rub your hands with lemon.

Bye Im at work and Im taking care of sick people.

I hope Zday wont be cancelled because of this as they already cancelled the 12 hrs of Sebring next week which Im supposed to go.

I agree. However, the administration is relaxing alot of regulation with the FDA to speed up the vaccine research. Theyre projecting anywhere between a year and a year and a half.

South Korea has the most reliable statistics at the moment and they report a .77% mortality rate. Theyve tested 250k. Again, that mortality rate is sure to be lower since there will be people infected that have not been tested. Much lower than the 3% rate reported by China.

Yeah, common sense hygiene is key

You hit it right on the nail brother because of multiple regulations about HIPA and other health regulations created by our intelligent legislators. The CDC and other Heath organizations there hands being tied down by this laws.

Honestly the US is handling the crisis poorly. Other smaller third world countries are doing better in controlling and providing better information and safety with their people.
There is much politics involved that slows down the process of finding a cure in America. But we have the brightest and intelligent doctors, nurses and medical scientist in the country.

Like I Im more concerned about the long term economic effect of this...unemployment is a bigger issue, company laying off employees.

Multiple fathers unable to put food on the table is my biggest concern.
That kills the whole family long term. Not the virus.

Stocks are down. Big Business having only 10%-20% work force.
Price of essential commodities goes up.

I don’t understand how people be more afraid of the virus more than the economy impact it brings.

Im on my Lunch break. Im gonna walk a 75 year patient infected with a flu so his own body immune system fight the flu virus and not die of pneumonia.

Zoren 370 03-14-2020 12:12 PM

30,000 die of a common flu everyday in America from WHO.
Nobody panics and eat tissue papers and drink hand sanitizers.

2 people die in FLORIDA because of COVID 19. All Hell’s gates breaks loose.
In Jacksonville there was a shooting due to fighting for hand sanitizer!

This beyond madness/ lunacy guys.

Get the facts, get educated and don’t speculate. Be vigilant and smart.
Protect yourself from this danger of people would steal or kill just to get hand sanitizer.

Be part of the solution rather than be the catalyst of anarchy!

I know BoneZ its very sad how people are miss informed about the crisis.

I challenge you go inside any hospital in America you see all health care professionals how calm we they do there job without panic or fear.

Because we know if we panic as a whole we loose sight of our goal to take care of the sick and provide them comfort. Fear is a knock on the door when nobody is out there.

Dont loose focus of whats the right thing to do. Help, educate. Thats how we fight this crisis.

We all got a front row seat to the chit show going on around the world. :shakes head: This is just a little preview of what would happen if things really went down hill.
