I have been fishing indoors as well just to pass the time

Rusty 03-23-2020 06:57 AM

:hello:

I'z up.

100% rain today. high of 49F.

Have 2 cases in my county now.

Working 10 to 2 today.

Didn't sleep good last night. A lot on my mind. Have a chance at doing something. Mulling it over. It will lock me in for a few years if I go for it.

Rusty 03-23-2020 07:25 AM

Tabasco Fiasco

:tiphat:

This will make someone hot!

Leingod 03-23-2020 07:27 AM

7 in our county confirmed. 1 in the local hospital. 240 are forced quarantined. And it's snowing out...

JLarson 03-23-2020 07:41 AM

Morning all - back in the office for today, probably Wednesday as well. Training new personnel. Our 2nd facility isn't considered vital, so plant 1 has to absorb something like 50% more personnel than we usually have, trying to keep our best workers employed doing productive things for the business.

Sounds about normal for anyone without Prime. The free shipping option through Amazon takes about 3-6 weeks for me the past couple years.

I have not been out since last month. But the weather is supposed to hit upper 80s this week, so I am definitely going to try and make it out

:iagree: No need for a boat. Find a stream and do some hiking :tiphat:

Trout season just ended here lol... Texas Parks & Wildlife stocks a few locations across the state in Nov/Dec. Waters are generally too warm for any remaining trout by now, with the exception of the Guadalupe River below the Canyon Lake Dam.

Sorry Rusty and no offense, but saltwater fishing > freshwater fishing

Different experiences. Incomparable for the most part. There's some amazing fresh water fishing in the world. It's also a lot easier to find good freshwater fishing in my experience.

I love fly fishing. I gave up every other form of fishing about 6 years ago. Stalking Bonefish on the flats is like hunting for fish. A truly unique experience.

Go to an Orvis store (after this whole virus mess calms down). They will teach you for free. Then go buy a cheaper fly setup from someone else lol; Orvis is expensive, but I buy from them because they have a 25 year no-questions-asked warranty for their rods and reels.

Basic casting is easy. There are several cast varieties that take a lot of practice to master though, but they are mostly unnecessary. The real difficulty is finding the right fly for your target and presenting it properly.

I still get pretty good results as long as it’s a Prime item shipping out of one of their warehouses. Outside that you are at the mercy of the vendors shipping time.

If you don't have to move and will be home with the wife all week, may be a good idea. If not, pass.

All depends on the Benjamin's. It's across the river from my old plant. 18 miles of back road.

with our crooked media and govt i have sooooooo much trouble trusting or believing anything i see anymore.

Not in my experience. Ordered some Christmas presents before Thanksgiving last year. All Prime items in stock (they offered 1-day delivery if I signed up), advertised 5-7 day delivery and still took 3 weeks.

Some (not many) vendors are better than Amazon.

Seems to depend on your area and how many warehouses are nearby. Up until the Corona issue, it was extremely unusual for me to have to wait more than a day for my ordered items. Frequently, I qualified for same-day delivery.

FPenvy 03-23-2020 09:19 AM

hmmm......next weekend fontana dam weather is 82 and 79 with light chances of rain (everyday this time of year)

maybe i'll take firday off, force my dad into the car, and finaly get him to go see the dragon in person rather than my pics and youtube videos.

Between Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio there is no reason any warehouse in-stock item should take more than a day or two to deliver. But they give priority to Prime customers, which means customers like me experience ridiculous shipping.

I have two prime accounts. My personal one, and for some reason, work signed me up for a business prime membership. Never used that one though.

Happy Monday! It is raining off and on here today. No reported cases of COVID-19 in my county but testing is all but nonexistent. I don't think more than 400 people have been tested statewide and Phoenix metro area has about 7 million people.

Spent yesterday re-tightening every screw on the enclosed trailer. A few were lose but for the most part they were all still tight and snug.

Off to work, ya'll be safe!:tiphat:

jchammond 03-23-2020 10:04 AM

Amazon can suck my big fat sillyhole :gtfo2:

I had Prime for years; got rid of it in 2018. What good is it anymore? And why would I pay $80/yr for it? :icon14:

The video and music suck compared to other streaming services that I already have access to. The marketplace is a mess. And I don't order crap from Amazon often enough to make the shipping benefits worth it. I use Amazon reviews for information and entertainment. These days I can go elsewhere for a better product or the same product at the same price or cheaper.

So which one do you recommend for streaming other than Amazon?
Sling?

Hell no. Sling is garbage. My neighbor tried it out last year.

I get by fine with Plex really. But Netflix, Hulu, and various network apps (need cable subscription login for most of these) are good supplements.

I use Spotify for music. But Apple music is solid as well.
