I've seen it. :shakes head: And the traffic!!!!!!

KingZTX 03-04-2020 12:28 PM

Traffic is a no-no here in Austin. Fortunately don't have to worry about it too much while in school in Waco.

Ive been lurking the forum for a few years, but decided its about damn time I become more active. Love the welcome tag :rofl2:

only good thing in Austin is Rooster Teeth.

rest of it just seems like hipsters and overpricing everything lol

The unfortunate result of being voted the #1 city to live in America. Overpricing everything is an understatement. :shakes head:

thats why i'll stick it out here in Pittsburgh.

things arent too bad yet. slight rise with people trying to clean up the city since all the steel mills went away years ago. slight increase of hipsters but there's still wayyyyy too many yinzers to allow a takeover :bowrofl:

redondoaveb 03-04-2020 12:40 PM

Same, we have our own crooks to deal with in Sacramento.

FPenvy 03-04-2020 01:16 PM

i do need get focused here soon though. contract at work is running out soon. time to move on but no idea which direction to go after almost 10 years here.

had some thing pop up for a sales job for automotive software for dealerships. kinda seems like a solid gig. 40% travel rest is work from home.

Can you market the skills youve gained at that company? Freelance/contract.

not sure. i mean exposure to different programs and whatnot helps.

looking back i got comfortable, should have left 5 years ago, now seems i wasted a lot of time.

however, i now see i really really dont feel like working for companies anymore after my 2 months being laid off. i dont get the allure some people have for working in the corporate structure. like someone in my group here now is one of those types where all the bitch says is corporate buzz words and gets off on it. like wtf you need to just go away lol

corporate jargon makes me sick... it just sounds to me like people trying to sound smarter than they really are.

Anyway, freelance/contracting is pretty awesome if you can find your niche.

:iagree:

either they're trying to sound smart or just enjoy swallowing that corporate punch too much and are actually dumb enough to buy into it.

either way most people are fuckin idiots in my opinion :bowrofl:

contract work does sound nice. dont have to be a part of anything just go in knock it out and get paid.

As long as you don't do contract work for a hospital....:icon14:

Everyone of them is a slow payer, they cut checks a few days after the end of the month. :gtfo2:

KingZTX 03-04-2020 03:26 PM

Hospitals are a hit and miss. I worked with the IT guys from 2 major hospitals in the LA area. One of them, they were paid very well. The other hospital, well, lets just say that the way they value their people leaves alot to be desired. :shakes head:

Yep. No interesting roads that I found yet. found some nice houses with LARGE shops with them. Housing pricing ain't bad either. 4 bedroom 2 bath, 2 acres, shop, water rights for $245,000. Another one had 7 acres plus horse stable/barn. It was up against BLM land for $269,000. The driveway going to it. My Jeep won't make. I would have to the Power Wagon with the lockers locked. :icon14:

Looks like Durango CO is right up the road, as is Farmington NM. IDK... I'd not cross it off the list. Looks nice.

Oh, and you'd be within hours of Hotrod's money tree!! :icon17:

I've driven around there before. US 64 eastbound is fun as hell. NM 371 is great if you want to not see other humans for an hour. You actually have a lot of good road options in that area.

BettyZ 03-04-2020 05:37 PM

On the other hand, the local DUI issue is... severe.

Sounds like my kind of place. NM is nice because you go back at least 20 years in time!
