Nest Protect. Smoke alarm and CO2. The voice announcements are much more pleasant than the screeching alarm. Even when it detects smoke, it gives a verbal warning first lol.
"Warning. Smoke detected <location>. The smoke alarm will sound. The smoke alarm is loud." The location is whatever you designate. I just use upstairs and downstairs for the designations. |

That's why I suggested in a very old thread about Akebono calipers, to buy the Cardone ones from any of the above stores, and return the base calipers in the box. They will never know the difference. :icon14: If I was to hazard a guess, if the Gold line at Napa are Wix, the ProSelect are probably the higher end Wix. :twocents: |

I had customers switch stores when i took over a new store- even though the old store was right next to their house. i miss it sometimes - parts was a fun job. |

I left when he decided that I needed to work 40 hours for him as a part-time guy.:gtfo2: |

I liked selling parts - i didn't like managing minimum wage employees. |
It's freaking Monday. Cranked the truck up this morning and proceeded to shred the Serpentine belt. Tensioner is done and the belt rode a couple of bands over the pullies. Oh what fun. Took a day off and rounded up the parts. Now to get dirty.

I wound up working all day on the weekends, and from 5pm to close (9 pm) during the week, after working 50 hours at my day job.:eek: He couldn't understand why I got so upset about the schedule. :shakes head: |

I didn't close the store or work sundays but thats because i had part timers that could only work those shifts. That and i couldn't get anything done at night. When you get called up front for every single customer it makes it hard to do backroom jobs like inventory and planograms. I very much do not miss doing those either. Its hard to staff a store when you've interviewed everyone in the system across multiple stores. I interviewed so many dumb dumbs you wouldn't believe it. |
A good friend of mine worked in a few auto parts stores over the years. When he started, most of the counter people were very knowledgeable and could usually help you identify parts. Nowadays, many of them have trouble looking up a part number. But definitely not all of them - there are still quite a few car people behind the counter, you just have to look to find them sometimes. The local O'Reillys (closest place to my house) has a few that I will wait to have help me.
Sometimes the customers are just as bad. My friend has a lot of horror stories. Same thing happened at Radio Shack - only worse. Back in The Good Ole Days, the person behind the counter was usually an electronics buff working mainly for the employee discount. They knew their s**t. Eventually ended up with a bunch of folks who knew nothing about what they were selling. |

Just had a fun lunch with a board member of a national Healthcare provider and the ex governor of Vermont. Interesting day...

Well that was fun. Dodge didn't leave room for crap. Changing belts has always been a pain in the butt. Removing the tensioner just made it more of a pain in the butt. Couldn't imagine doing this on the side of the road.

Reading an article last night about this Chinese virus. Part of it said that the N95 respirators on Amazon are selling out. Most places are sold out. All are going over to China.
I checked our store. We can't get them. The only ones we have is on the shelves. I'm just putting this out there. If you are thinking about this. Get your supplies now. Stock on stuff related to this virus is running low. |
Friend of mine seen my Z on Google maps. Go to Google. type in GNC, Uniontown Pa. Click on the map. Zoom all the way down, and hit street view. I'm parked in front of the AAA place. This pic was from about 2 yrs ago, before the fender vents and splitter.

The longer a boat is the faster it will go due to a narrower angle of entry if you can eliminate the “oil canning effect” from the bottom. But longer is usually narrower and eventually you realize that you cannot sit on a toothpick without tipping A shorter boat is more flickable and can turn easier. It seems like everywhere I will paddle here in FL is a narrow flat swampish river full of alligators. I think I want stability here instead of forward speed. I was a professional canoe racer for 7 years in Michigan and switched to kayaks when I moved to NC. I had 5 kayaks last year that I sold prior to the move to the promised land down here in sunny FL. I had planned on buying this boat last fall but the sore throat festivities made me hold back awhile... ;) |

I just checked it... so if you move the street view pic to the right, then spin the picture to look back at the Z, youll see yourself in a blue and white shirt getting in or out of the car. LOL! |
