I can get behind the humor here, but there is a trade-off. Some people get pissy when you revive an old thread, but others get pissy if you create a new thread instead of posting to an existing (7 year old) thread.

It depends on the post. Pretty much every question has been asked and answered, so chances are there is no need to start a thread. And if you bump an old thread to answer a question that was asked 7 years ago, that's gonna get a fun response as well. Some people bump old thread to post their experience; that might get a thread-necro meme or something posted, but generally that's not a 'pissy' response.
