Go over to Mammoth Mountain. They have over 37ft of snow, and it's still coming down. They had to close down the resorts because of too much snow.

We're in salt lake city. I've heard good things about mammoth!

Pintsize725 02-18-2019 08:36 PM

I got a local blogger to start using any photos I take at COTA on his page. If you feel like giving it a listen and signing up, you can find it here.

Which ski resort you at?

You can't get to Mammoth. All the roads are closed. They're having troubles removing the snow. :rofl2:

Ribs are sore as hell but it could have been a hell of a lot worse.

bunk 02-18-2019 09:28 PM

Well, at least you came out in relatively one piece! Cant say that about the Z, but glad youre not in pieces strewn along the street!

Rusty 02-18-2019 09:31 PM

You're going to be hurting in the morning. :(

Take your time trying to figure out on what you're going to do with the Z. I know you have a lot in it.

Yep, I agree, if it would have hit at a different angle the outcome wouldn't have been good. Not that this outcome is good but it's only a car. And I always knew in the back of my mind that it could happen. No matter how careful you try to be.

It happened yesterday afternoon, I actully have less pain than I did when they were shooting me full of morphine last night.

I'll see what insurance says. Seb already has a customers tt lined up for me if I'm interested. I'll heal first and go from there.

Hotrodz 02-18-2019 09:37 PM

Dude sorry for your loss and glad you are okay! Man that is some scary stuff.

bunk 02-18-2019 09:38 PM

What a snap hook and what causes it? Im gonna get an alignment soon. I was taking the curve from the 405 South to the 605N interchange, and it felt a little skiddish.

Hotrodz 02-18-2019 09:40 PM

Driving a Miata has shown me what speed is all about. Like Patrick said things can get all out of sorts in a hurry with big power.

Thanks man. What's scary is when it happens so fast you don't have time to react, even though I tried. And you can see what you're about to hit and all you can do is yell "oh ****"

Not sure. I of course have had the car get loose before but this just snapped left. If I didn't know better I would say that something broke but I don't know how or what that would have been.

No doubt. I was going in a straight line and was doing a low rpm pull.

I have had that happen at the track a couple of times and it is just like you described...the back end brakes loose and you are looking the other way and all you can do is hold on. I guess that is why I don't drive mine much on the street anymore or at least when it was running lol.

That is where the rear comes around so quick, that it's over with before you can do anything about it.

Causes. Big power, tires, road conditions, alignment, driver error, something broke, a combination of the fore mentioned.

I scared the chit out of me and the guy behind me one time. The rear snapped around coming out of a corner, and I was eyeball to eyeball with the guy behind me. Did a 180 and was looking at the guy. His eyeballs was as big as mine. I kept it on the track some how.

After looking at my rear wheel that got torn off by the curb, my NT05's are really worn. I hadn't noticed they were that worn. Even one of the cops pointed it out. But the funny thing is, I was already up to speed, I didn't just stab the throttle when it happened. It was dusk, there might have been dew on the road, I'm not sure.

Thanks, I don't think any of the neighbors thought I would come crawling out of the car either.

When I got new tires recently, my rears were more worn than I thought.. Almost no tread on the inside.
