With the Z. You really can't give the tires a quick look to see how they are wearing. With the rears. You have to stick your head under it to really see the inside of the tread. It's even worse with big meats. The more camber you have in the rear. The more you have to keep an eye one them.

Yeah, now I know. I looked at my last alignment sheet from last year and didnt realize how much negative camber we have. I think im at like -2.9

Thanks, I'm surprised I did. Somebody was looking out for me. When I heal up I'll take a picture of the big chunk I took out of the tree.

For a DD. That's way to much. I have mine set at -1.8, and I track mine. :driving:

The Z tub is stiff as chit. There is very little flex in it.

Pure track cars can get away with that much camber. There is no sense for that on a DD, unless it's for looks.

I agree. I was impressed with how well it protected me. Every air bag in the car went off. I was fortunate that the passenger side hit the tree though. It was a big eucalyptus

Wait until you see my camber since I just changed the springs and not any spc parts or toe bolts.

Yup. I always have to remind myself to respect the car. It isn’t the full pulls that get you. The scariest times in my car are when I’m just cruising, say in third, doing 30-35mph and I apply 3/4 throttle. Turbo spools up and car gets all kind of sloppy, even though you aren’t really beating on it.

Nope, nobody in the car with me and no other cars on the road at the time. Very fortunate because I spun across the two opposite lanes of traffic.

Ouch, It can happen to any of us. If I have an issues it is usually because I am in the ditch and it was self inflicted. You are walking and talking. Deal with the car later.

Let me ask you this. Did you counter steer into the slide and the car snap back
the other direction? IF so, it was the dang Yaw sensor. There is a video of this on my YouTube channel (Spooler). It is around the 6 min mark. It is the one with the Oops. Yes, I got it on video.

k67p67 02-19-2019 12:13 AM

Glad to hear you walked away from this.

Rusty 02-19-2019 12:22 AM

With the VCS on. The car will do some weird chit. Going through a turn and the rear starts to drift out. The VCS will apply a rear brake to straighten the car out. 9 times out of 10 when it happens. The car is pointed in the wrong direction. :shakes head: First time it happened to me. I was doing a trackday with an instructor with me. He accused me of hitting the brakes. I told him it wasn't me but the car. He didn't believe me until I showed him the video. My foot never touched the brake pedal. It was still on the gas. From that point on. It has been off. Now I can shut the YAW sensor off completely.
