I woke up at 5:30 and the radar showed about 50 miles of red thunderstorms. **** driving in a monsoon to come in the week between Christmas and New Years, hit the alarm and got back up at 7am after this **** had passed.

I got the G all ready for the road. Guess I’ll activate the insurance next week and put some hard miles on her.

i gotta start figuring out what set of rubbers im picking for spring.

think the Z's are still good. rears went on in april brand new and only put 3500 miles on them. typically i get 10-13k on them.

onzedge 12-27-2018 08:59 AM

I resolve to make no resolutions.

My Re-11s are just about done in the rear. JCHammond made me an offer I couldnt refuse for two sets of the PSS for the rear. They get good praise but it is not going to be like my beloved RE-11s, I fear.

i ran PSS's until i rolled the shoulder on the fronts then i went with RE-11's. best choice i made. now they kill off the RE-11's and luckily i have 3 sets of fronts with 70% life left on each lol sadly no one has 305's anywhere so gotta make the set on it last.

I have the 305s too and was hoping to find a new old stock pile laying around but nothing. I stepped up to 325s for the pss.

I really want to get it retuned. I feel my tune is safe but a bit conservative. This I can get the same power/response at lower boost levels.

yea ive tried too no luck however.

i mean theres the RE-71, cup 2, pss, ps4s, r888r, and others. but the RE-11 was the best street tire at a great price point for superior grip.

Just because it says they have them on their website doesn't mean the actually do. LOL Ask me how I know. I thought I found some 325/30/19 RE11's. Not. I would run the RE71's butt they don't come in 325/30/19. So I can run the replacement S007's or R888's. I am hoping to have a couple of more months to figure out what to do while my car is in the shop for upgrades.

madwi 12-27-2018 09:36 AM

I am seriously eyeballing the r888s.

the S007A's kinda look weak. until i see some solid reviews i highly doubt i will go that route.

i am between the R888R's, sport cup 2's, or NT01's for the GT-R.

i think i may just go with whichever outlasts the others. the grip is about the same between them all. but i have like 3 long trips i want to take the GT-R on this summer.

think when the weather breaks im gonna go to toronto, then zdayz in may, myrtle in june, then possibly another beach for sisters wedding when they pick a date and location.

Twin Turbo Build

I am currently having my engine rebuilt and it is almost complete with AAM Competition twin turbo kit. Been a very long 5 months but should be worth the wait. My engine building guy sent me a picture of the AAM intercooler. It had a lot of slag. Is this normal to have this much slag in here?? The intake pipes are also offset.

FPenvy 12-27-2018 09:52 AM

should have went with the FI TT kit.......just saying lol

Staying with UpRev. I’d only make the jump to Ecutek if I went E85. There’s just not enough differences between the two to justify the cost since I already have UpRev.

I was going back and forth between the two companies but couldn't pass up the EFR's. My engine builder has been nothing short of amazing. Shout out to RMB Motorworks in Ramsey New Jersey. Those guys are legit!

yea the EFR's are good turbos. but the AAM kit just seems to have so many issues from what i've heard.
