Has resonated exhaust and HFCs ... complains exhaust is too quiet

OEM cats with non-resonated exhaust sounds better than your setup. SS vs CF cans even make a noticeable difference. There's no substitute for hearing the different setups in person.

Do what I do and just don't get the car inspected. Went three years last time before getting pulled over and getting warnings for it got annoying. Already 9 months past now :icon17:

madwi 06-22-2018 09:12 AM

That is one positive of Michigan, we dont have inspections.

Haha I used to do that with my MS3, I had it inspected maybe once in almost a decade.

You can't get registration without an inspection now in Texas though. Are you unregistered?

Leingod 06-22-2018 09:19 AM

Correct. I could technically not get it inspected, but wouldn't be able to re-register the car every 2 years though.

b15 06-22-2018 09:28 AM

Do you have actual inspections or just emissions? If the latter, it'll be easy to pass as long as no CEL and car is in ready mode. That's how we do it in IL haha

eastwest2300 06-22-2018 09:30 AM

mike its always something with you duuuude. :ugh:

Actual inspections. I've failed in the past due to old wiper blades leaving streaks on the windshield......

Nah. My city is just problematic for anyone with any "fun" being a thing.

New York? that sucks!!! (Although a part of me likes this given all the **** boxes on the road)

Can you get in good with a shop to "certify" you when needed?

madwi 06-22-2018 09:46 AM

I think I am going to take the Z out for a spin.

I guess so? I've never encountered a cop that cared about anything other than insurance though. Inspection and registration are not hot buttons in my experience. Even if I get hassled for it (as in an actual ticket), it's just a matter of getting it taken care of and paying a $10 dismissal fee.

Not really. We had a crackdown here a few years ago on shops running stuff under the table.

I did last night. But I forgot I was down to nearly half a tank with broken top hat - fuel hiccup the first corner I tried to push out of :ugh2:

In month of so, I will get serious about fixing this stuff on the Z. CJM top hat and fuel starve kit and ZSpeed clutch kit to start with :)

Dont overlook the Holley mat too. If it works for you, it will save ya a few hundred.

The ones here are to busy driving drunk in squad cars hitting people and fleeing the scene. Or grounding boats from drinking all day. Or cheating on their 4th wife.

Is that what Z1's kit uses? I know there are a couple of options for less than half the cost. I've decided to send my money to phunk though.

Leingod 06-22-2018 10:15 AM

What sushi to get for lunch. That is the important question of the day.

One thing I remembered which I thought was funny, it's actually a lesser fine for not having registration/inspection, than to display an expired.

Fried pork chop, battered with panko in melted cheese and bacon bits courtesy of my wife. My taste buds are delighted.
