That's what I grew up on. My neighborhood had euro flavor from old country. Mostly 1st or 2nd generation. Walk around the block and you could hear 7~8 different euro languages being spoken by the grand parents. My dad's mom spoke 7 languages. Eating was good growing up.:yum::yum::yum::yum::yum:

Spoiler 01-08-2018 08:37 PM

My wife is a 3rd generation Polish girl and makes all of them Polish dishes frequently.

She grew up in Hamtramack MI for those of you that know what that means... :icon17:

madwi 01-08-2018 08:44 PM

Sadly no good Polish foods here at work. Suppose some chicken tacos or a turkey wrap will have to do.

Rusty 01-08-2018 10:01 PM

I'm cooking pork and sauerkraut in a slow cooker with mashed potatoes tomorrow for dinner. :yum: Think Saturday. I'm cooking fried cabbage, noddles and ham in butter. :yum: That will lube my insides up. :rofl2: My wife is hispanic. And she never had this. :rofl2: When she cooks. I ask her to tone it down. Like from 6 alarm to 3 alarm heat. :rofl2:

Rusty 01-08-2018 10:13 PM

Cooking reppie. :yum:

:yum: I have a a bunch of kielbasa I need to cook up in some sauerkraut. Need to hit up the little market, they have some really potent sauerkraut :icon17:

Rusty 01-08-2018 10:50 PM

When I cook sauerkraut. Normally 2 cans. I drain and strain the kraut first. Then add 1 cup of dark brown sugar to it. :yum: It's even good on burgers. :yum:

Hmm, I will have to try a small test batch sometime. Not sure if I would like the sweet with the kraut or not. Def. worth a try though.

Grandmom taught me this. Had an Italian neighbor tell me to use a Hershey's chocolate bar or some dark brown sugar in my spaghetti sauce to kill the acid from the tomatoes. :yum:

I guess Zoren is lay’in down on the job again....

madwi 01-09-2018 05:21 AM

Freakin' slacker.

Spoiler 01-09-2018 05:27 AM

Seeing how the coffee pot is so empty, makes me think...
Heck maybe Zoren never even made it home last night...
maybe he was out “running the swamps”, if you know I mean.

;)

You'd be correct good sir. Brown sugar will also act as a thickener due to the maple syrup in it. A little corn starch will cut down on the acid as well.

I bought a 3 port hdmi switch because i'm to lazy to turn on my tv and change inputs myself. So the switch has CEC to power on the tv and switch to the corresponding input for the device I start.

(See, I can make random things sound important too!) :icon17:
