The vision of snowy salty mess really propelled my reason to sell the G earlier than Fall. RWD only sells well in warm months in my area so to get a good trade, needed to sell now. :D

"Brain Damage"

The lunatic is on the grass
The lunatic is on the grass
Remembering games and daisy chains and laughs
Got to keep the loonies on the path
The lunatic is in the hall
The lunatics are in my hall
The paper holds their folded faces to the floor
And every day the paper boy brings more
And if the dam breaks open many years too soon
And if there is no room upon the hill
And if your head explodes with dark forbodings too
I'll see you on the dark side of the moon
The lunatic is in my head
The lunatic is in my head
You raise the blade, you make the change
You re-arrange me 'till I'm sane
You lock the door
And throw away the key
There's someone in my head but it's not me.
And if the cloud bursts, thunder in your ear
You shout and no one seems to hear
And if the band you're in starts playing different tunes
I'll see you on the dark side of the moon

"I can't think of anything to say except...

These next 2 days will be rough. Professional business attire because one of the asswads from Portugal is here. I feel restrictive as hell. The HVAC isn't working correctly and pumping out hot air. And the amount of laptops I have to image to Windows 10 within the next 2 days is staggering.

kenchan 07-11-2016 07:00 AM

dont be like this guy, wrap ur sockets with masking tape before working on ur lugs. :shakes head:

my sa55's have zero scratches.

i removed the specter? spector? knob from the G before i sold her.. going to try it on my Z later in the week. :p

no more cold hand in the spring/fall

kenchan 07-11-2016 07:08 AM

right about now the dealer's probably like... horry fak, dere's no shift knob on this G?! :rofl2:

kenchan 07-11-2016 07:09 AM

jk. i put a used 370z knob on it. actually felt real good.

a local guy was able to remove his with no damage so he sold it to me a while back.

kenchan 07-11-2016 07:10 AM

good thing about the GTI is that the knob on the DSG looks cool. even has a boot so looks nicely finished.

kenchan 07-11-2016 07:13 AM

i wish the cluster screen would show which gear the car is in LARGER. i see a tiny 12 or 14point alphanumeric showing the gear selection.. cant see it very well. funny how i dont care to see the gear number on my MT but want to see on AT cause cant' feel by hand which gear its in.

kenchan 07-11-2016 07:15 AM

oh yah, removed bird crap from the GTI's roof this am too while i was checking the lug bolt taper. no respect these faking birds.. :shakes head:

paint, glass, plastic, rubber seals, all OK. no white marks.

So I finally found the time to attack a full exterior detail yesterday (interior had been done a few days earlier)... Wash/dry, clayed the entire car, Dr. Colorchiped a few rock chips (pretty impressive results, btw, esp. on the PW), 2 coats of the Hyrdo Max on everything including wheels (this stuff is insanely easy to apply), Opti-Bond the tires and rainX the widows... 7.5 hours but, damn, that paint feels like glass! :happydance:

'sigh', now if I only had more space and the garage was attached to the apartment....:icon23:

With a 6' long tool box, an extra set of tires and wheels, plus the wire racks to hold miscellaneous power tools, I barely have space to park Belle. I need to rent a house when the apartment lease is up....:eekdance:

ChaseZ 07-11-2016 09:17 AM

So my two projects for the day got rescheduled. After a few more cups of coffee do I:

A) install RJM pedal
B) adjust my suspension up 1/2" rear 3/8" front
C) install Stillen oil cooler
D) relocate passenger side 12v to blank spot on shifter bezel
E) go back to bed and think about it some more

Is this the stuff you're talking about?

Prima Hydro MAX Super Spray Polymer

Edit: assuming it is, the 32oz refill size is on sale 50% off but on back order so I'll just wait and try it out when it's back in stock.

Thanks

I've been using this detailing spray, which is phenomenal but like the idea of that other stuff lasting months not weeks
