I supposedly need new tires. Basic Bridgestone tires with 27k miles on them need to be replaced. not the fender that was damaged, the salt damaged seats from winter, the sun roof glide thing, or the crack in the display screen from excessive heating. Nope.

Tires.....rated at 40k yet are at 2/32 supposedly at 27k miels. Just insulting. GOD I HATE HONDA!!!!!!!!!!

They're slowly growing on me. I just hear tons of horror stories for how often they break. My bosses 07 Commander has had a lot of issues recently.

JARblue 07-05-2016 09:18 AM

Morning everyone :hello:

JARblue 07-05-2016 09:19 AM

So glad it's not Monday. But wait ... Monday was a holiday  :headsplode:

JARblue 07-05-2016 09:21 AM

The Z will be getting her first ride on a tow truck today :ugh2:

Should be a quick fix unless Z1 sent me the wrong parts, in which case I don't feel so bad about giving up.

That was my concern as well and why I don't have one. It seems anything Chrysler makes has bad Transmissions.

Time to buy a Tiburon!!! I'm pretty sure I'll own a Volvo or Versa as my next basic beater. I don't need anything fancy. And the money I save can be sued to pay off the Z even quicker. Goal is to have no CC and no Z payment by the end of next year.

I've heard this a few times from random people, but my personal experience they've been great. Problem free, and I've had 6 or 7 of them now. The Wranglers especially haven't given me any trouble. Wouldn't hesitate to buy another for sure.

I picked up an 06 Escape as my beater after getting the Z. Hauls the kids, Home Depot runs and Awd for the winter. Plus it was cheap :)

Any specific model years or things to look at when buying one?

If you're looking at an older Wrangler I'd look at a TJ (97-06). Coils all around, has the great 4.0 inline 6. Most never leave the pavement so likely hasn't been beat on. The Sport model will come with better axles and rear ends (D44) without having to pay Rubicon prices. And there are a zillion of them around so if you did need parts they are cheap and easy to find.

I just sold my JK Unlimited before the Z. Would have bought a TJ instead of the Escape but I have just turned 3 year old twins and they are much easier to contend with in a four door instead of climbing in the back seat from the front.

The only Chrysler trans that's gave me a bit of grief was a 93 Eagle Vision TSI Auto that wouldn't quite catch D when it was cold, that was after 200k though. I've had multitudes of manual and standard Chryco trans and never had an issue otherwise. Maybe I just got lucky.

Great goal. My grocery getter is a 2007 RAV4. I often have to remember that I'm not in the Z when I pull out into traffic.

I'd love a big ol' 4 door Rubi sitting on 33's.

A 4.0 TJ ain't too bad in that regard. Bulletproof engine, and tons of aftermarket support. The newer JK's went to a frickin minivan engine and couldn't get out of its own way. That was my only beef with mine. Full exhaust and a tune helped some, but it needed more for the size of the vehicle.

They can't get to me until late this afternoon because I had to request their low-friendly flatbed tow truck to minimize the chance of mishaps

I've been screwing with the clutch system for two weeks now. First weekend went well until a pop was heard during the bleeding process, which I thought was the master. No more pressure after that. I got a new master and ordered another slave just in case. Got the new master installed and did some bleeding this weekend with no success. Removed the slave cylinder and finally gave up when the new slave cylinder Z1 sent me did not appear to be the same length as the one I removed. I already emailed Z1 this morning with photos, so we'll see what they have to say. I'm having it towed to Austin Z Clinic, so hopefully Kevin will be able to figure it out without much trouble and get me back on the road asap.

BoneZ 07-05-2016 11:21 AM

Ehhhhhh...

JARblue 07-05-2016 11:25 AM

Apparently, I just have to switch over the shorter threaded rod from my old slave cylinder to the new one. Many thanks to Spencer at Z1 for the quick response :tiphat:

Our CX-9 has a pretty stout 3.7 v6, it gets up and goes for a 4400lb SUV.

Dood that sucks to hear. I am dreading the day mine fails. Hopefully i can get a new clutch and fly wheel and replace all that at the same time before it fails.

Im at 43k now.
