I've been able to fix a number of TVs and monitors over the years using that method. I've fixed ones from 6 months old to 10 years old. Works every time. I usually replace most every capacitor (I don't mess with the big ones though - they'll mess you up if you're not careful to discharge them properly). It costs about ~$13 including shipping typically :tiphat:

It's the DU/SD board within the unit. It's a known flaw of the tv apparently. Stupid boards are sold out everywhere and even then they cost $600. The board basically fried itself it sounds like.

i have the audio hooked up to my small sony stereo. while it's only got 2 channels i still get nice audio spread and dimension. :D

i use to have a prologic system back like 20yrs ago. i should probably make a THX someday soon..

is THX wat u guys use these days? :ugh: ive been away from hometheater for over a decade.. :ugh2:

I just need 120hz for no motion blur and input lag under 5ms for gaming. LED or LCD, doesn't matter to me. Could care less about 4k content or stereoscopic 3D or even smart features. 50+ inches and beveled inputs since I use flush wall mounts.

yah i dont play games on my 22", but motion blur was the biggest concern for me too.

yah, i do dat often too unknowingly so i just stop and think about all the greatness i have around me. like family and all the stuff i have that makes me happy. :D

The SI is probably just a slightly faster horrible car.

Did you see the 10th gen Civic unveiled this week? Looks promising.....but who knows.

I have the previous years model smart LED, I think its a 6100 or something like that. The only thing I hate is the smart portion of it. The interface sucks, so I just take up another HDMI with an apple tv and didn't look back.


Lien, too bad this didn't happen a week ago. I just sold my 4 yrd old Samsung 42" for $150 this past monday, it was "like New". Creigslist had a good selection for around $200 mark.

It's quicker in the sense that the feeling of steering is even lighter so you're turning 180 degrees to make a right on red. The power is quicker than the steering can handle. By a large margin.

I left a horrible post on panasonics FB page. They just got back to me asking for more info and are going to see if they can help with an out of warranty offer. We shall see....
