njobe89 10-05-2015 08:09 AM

appointment at 10am at nissan... it just dawned on me, even if they do cover it under warranty, they'll just replace it with another oem csc. i thought i would get the zspeed one and have them install it but i doubt they would do that.

right, but at least you will get another xxx miles out of the factory one. be sure to have both the master and csc replaced, not just one of them.

I've looked into this recently, seems like a fairly easy job on the Z...trans drops right down, why not DIY?

And get the good CSC, I cant believe this CSC is not a recall yet and they just put a new crappy one in for ya..

CSC Replacement/Transmission Removal
Step 1: fail to remove stock shift knob
Step 2: give up
Step 3: trade car

Do I really need to make a DIY topic about how I did it without marring the stocker?

Leingod 10-05-2015 01:39 PM

Also, afternoon guys. Took my first personal day of the year. 11 months and 27 days. And I was productive today. Pos civic is getting the inspection done and suspended insurance starring Nov 1st for the winter season. Wendy's for lunch. Now it's time for some video games, pron, and a nap.

:roflpuke2:

So step 4 = owner mod. Many cars need that mod, badly. Others need a driver mod....

And some just need to man up and take the damn stock shift knob off!!

jpkirk 10-05-2015 01:44 PM

Or ...

live with the stock knob cuz it's actually just fine.

Be fine to have one of each wouldn't it. I wonder if I could get my wife to buy one.

Hey dear, look, it's practical, four doors, portable park bench. :icon17:

if i knew i could get close to 30k for my z, i would more than likely pull the trigger. that's how i'm feeling right now about nissan and their crappy "technicians" and them saying it will be ok, we will just add gtr fluid.

Now I understand. I have not had to have mine at the dealer ... yet. I pray it never happens.

Leingod 10-05-2015 01:55 PM

Inspection on the civic failed because my windshield wipers were old and leaving large streaks. Wtf?? That's even a thing to be failed on??
