i dont use my impact gun while working on my wheels. hand tools and a driver in fast, but low torque setting.

Got the Milwaukee set per Mr Scotts and Mr Onze's recommendations. I'm tired of using the tire iron that comes with the car. Can't wait to get my torque wrench though. Never used one before.

which milwaukee one? they make many impacts.

get a quality long handle 1/2" drive ratchet, adapter, and deep socket. and masking tape the socket where it might rub the wheel's lug bores.

no need for impact guns for just doing wheels. hell, i recommend against using impact guns if u care about your wheels.

Dis one
http://www.amazon.com/Milwaukee-2691...akee+drill+set

I'll order the drive ratchet and adapter now. Mr Onze said literally the same exact thing with the masking tape.

And I'd prefer a gun just to be on the safe side so I can take tires off over the winter if needed. lugs are usually rusted on from all the salt. But why not use an impact? As long as you thread carefully and don't push, they're fine.

lol u got at 1/4" drive impact? wat's the inch/ft? probably wont even come close to loosening your rusted nuts. you'll need something more in the 200lbs/ft+ range for that.

btw, my dd sits in the salt all winter long. ive never had to use an impact wrench to loosen the lugs.

Yea. I noticed that. I got it mainly for the drill. That impact driver i can use for other things. I may get a real impact wrench next. 90% of the time, the lugs come off no problem. But I've had a few stubborn wheels over the years make me suffer.

Debating on a cordless impact wrench or getting a $150 compressor and goign that route. The compressor would come in handy just for simply refilling tires.
