Hello Everyone!!

I am a former Z32 owner and hopefully a soon-to-be 370Z owner in the next couple weeks. I am 25, female, and have always loved sports cars.

Here are a couple photos of my old Z. I loveeed this car.

As you can see it was a Pearl White 2+2 MT 300ZX. Had the car for 5 years, and sold it in 2006.
After selling my Z on EBay I picked up a brand new Scion tC, and have driven that car since. Until last Monday when a teenage girl pulled out in front of me and totaled my car...

I am okay, but it's time for another ride. I should get my total loss settlement offer on Monday... and once negotiations are over I plan on buying a 370Z Touring 6MT +Sport +Navi & Kickplates. Not picky on the color but right now my favorites are Platinum Graphite, Pearl White, and Monterey Blue (all with black leather interior... unless I end up with white - then I would be open to Persimmon).

This site has been an amazing resource and I have been lurking for a while.
Most of my questions have been answered (especially concerning VPP since my employer is on the Plan D list).

My only obstacle at this point besides waiting on my settlement is MY DAD. I told him today that I want a 370, and he immediately told me I belong in a Maxima or an Altima because "that car is too powerful". Hah! He's such a hater and is totally bitter because he wants a Corvette but isn't in a position to buy one right now. I need my parents to cosign for me though so I can get a really good rate.
Time to do some arse kissing and buttering them up for the next few days...

Welcome to the forum. Sorry about your accident. I highly suggest you to check out Monterey Blue before making your final decision. It's really a great color and EVERY girl that saw the color, was instantly in love. You can check out pictures of Moneterey blue HERE and HERE

Good luck with your search. If you have any question(s), feel free to ask.

Thanks!!

AK, I am not going to lie the first time I saw Monterey Blue my jaw literally dropped. I am leaning a little bit. It is a stunning color and my local dealer has a few in stock.

When I got my Scion I was really set on black/black combo (my Scion had leather). And while I still think they are sexy... that car showed dirt and dust like no other! I don't knock anyone's decision to have a black Z, but it's definitely not for me.

Unfortunately the insurance co isn't going to give me a rental car indefinitely, so I am under a little pressure to find a Z in the configuration I want without having to wait on it to be shipped. That's the main reason I am flexible on the color.

I will certainly take pics when I get my new Z, StL.

You're lucky to be in Atlanta, then. When I was searching for my pearl & persimmon, I had to go a few hundred miles south to find the brighter colors, via nissanusa.com.

You listed the 3 colors in order exactly the same as this website's popularity polling goes. PG is excellent, and relatively invisible to police. White is bolder but in a classic way -- it draws attention but doesn't blind the eye. And the blue has grown on me (since I got pearl white), because people are just going to be staring at your car anyhow.

So ... I would suggest you select a BRIGHT RED NISMO Z, loaded with all the stuff you don't want, and then let your father (cosigner) "talk you down" to a more reasonable one ... that you've already set up ahead of time with your salesperson. That way, Dad's happy, you're happy ... and welcome to the club!

The last part of your post made me chuckle. My dad was trying to talk me into getting a used Bimmer earlier today actually (07 3-series). No offense to Bimmer owners out there, but I am just not interested!! I had my eye on the G37 for a while, but the more and more I look at the 370Z the less exciting the G37 seems to me. I think that's what I love about the Z's... EXCITEMENT! Fun to drive and look at!

Speaking of excitement [and stress], the insurance adjustor called me today and offered me 12,500 for my Scion tC. Almost every comp in the area is 13-14k MT with similar mileage and NONE have leather. I am ready to play hardball. I faxed her an eloquently written demand letter as well as 13 pages of comps proving that the market value of my tC was at least 14,500 but I will do them a favor and settle for 14,200. (minimum I'd take is 14k). TC was almost paid off and I want to put a big FAT down payment on my 370. I am supposed to hear back tomorrow.

I really want to get over this insurance crapola and get my Z already!!

Good luck with your new ride and I hope you enjoy it a lot.

PS: Tell your dad to buy a year or two old Vette, that is how I got mine. Bought a 6 month old '04 Convertible w/ a 6 sp manual and save $20,000 of the sticker. The car was brand new, very nice but now I have a 370Z and boy is it a nice one.

PSS: Volky's rule!

You know normally I HATE white but it wasn't until I saw the pearl white 370Z in person that I was very impressed with it. It's just not your average white and realy looks good on our cars.

Yay for chicks with Z's!!!
When I used to have my 300ZX I swear it was just a total GUY magnet. It wasn't even intentional... guys just had this immediate positive response to my car and always wanted to talk to me. Maybe it was easier for them to break the ice if they knew anything about cars. It was kind of cool, because I heard once that men are intimidated by a woman driving a fast car... I certainly debunked that myth!

I cannot even IMAGINE the type of response I will get as a female driving a 370Z.
