Default Replacing my exhaust: Greddy or Motordyne?

Hey guys, I'm getting a replacement exhaust due to damage at a carwash. My Greddy Spectrum Elite is either going to be replaced by the same exhaust, or I have a little bit of wiggle room around the same price as long as it still has burnt tips. I was mainly looking at the Motordyne Shockwave E370 Exhaust.

Should I go with the Motordyne over the Greddy if I'm given the option? I'm looking to stay around the same price from a resale aspect, so anything less expensive is kind of hurting me. The Greddy I have sounds nice, but I wish it had more of a throaty sound & Motordyne seems like they have that. The only other I like a lot is the GTHaus, and that's over double the price.

Greddy isn't very popular on this site from what I've seen, so between the two almost all here will say Motordyne.

Yeah, the Greddy SE was the only mod on my 40th when I bought it, it wouldn't have been my personal exhaust choice. I was also on the fence about the burnt blue tips since the whole car has red accents, and even the paint has a slight purple tint. I've grown to love the look though, and the exhaust note sounds great but it's too quiet.

Their gaskets on the other hand... I've replaced these crap Greddy "Trust" gaskets twice in less than 15k miles. I've talked to multiple other Greddy owners and they all said the same thing about trust gaskets. Knock on wood, the latest set has held longer but I think there is another leak by the muffler. The gaskets just disintegrate.

Greddy isn't popular for whatever reason, I DO know that when they had their yearly "garage sale" they were getting rid of the 8 they had in stock for $800~ (if my memory serves me well... Might have been $600)

Do ME a personal favor and don't buy from CZP, they're a bunch of money hungry, shady pricks...

So other than gaskets, what makes Greddy so unpopular around here? Their products are very well designed, fit as intended, and stand the test of time. The only reason I don't have a Turbo-TiC is because F.I. has such an awesome exhaust.

So OP, why not Fast Intentions?

I wondered the same. My guess is because it's one of the quieter exhausts and for that sound level, the Invidia Gemini is much cheaper (unless you find the Greddy on sale like DE mentioned).

I can attest to Greddy quality. I have a Greddy SE exhaust on my RSX. Fitment is perfect, it's well crafted, and exhaust note was just right (for me). Been on the car for 5+ years and it really is a 10/10 exhaust. So I'd say it's not a problem with the brand, just too many damn options for the 370 for that price or cheaper!

This concludes my sales pitch for Greddy

For whatever reason, I never was a big fan of Greddy. The exhaust itself seems solid & I know their reputation is good. I do like the Greddy exhaust now but I want something a little louder. Which leaves me with either getting the TI or Evo3, but I like the Motordyne much more. Of course my opinions are based off of youtube videos. The Fast Intentions sounds really nice as well. Or I could add HFC's but that's a bit TOO loud for a daily in my opinion. Had Berk HFCs & a Borla exhaust on my 350Z, and I loved the sound when I was driving hard, but going out on a weekend and driving a noisy Z in Chicago at 2AM makes you a target.

My question. If price was no option, would you choose Motordyne or Fast Intentions? And why?

Motordyne because of the aggressive sound.

Fast Intentions. Sound, price, quality, and fitment. While the sound part is subjective. I feel the quality and fitment cannot be beat. Plus Tony has the best customer service in the business. The price is also a factor but the wait time for a custom order may deter you to buy something that is sitting on the shelf.

You can't go wrong with either of these two. So depends on which sound appeals to you more. Which one you like the the looks of more. Whether you want to wait for your exhaust to be built. How much you are willing to pay for the exhaust of your choice. Those are your factors. Grab a sheet of paper and make two columns (FI/Motordyne) and see which one gets more check marks in the categories just mentioned.
