modded stock intake box?
Has anyone modded the stock boxes? When I had my (B5) S4 the was a stock air box mod where you a cut the bottom of the box off- part that faced the wheel well- was wondering if this would be something that we could do and pick up some HP was was cleaning my KN's yesterday and was noticing how small the intake boxes port was?

from what I have read on this board, the general concensus seems to be the stock boxes are very good and no mod would improve them without upgrading to another system entirely...

The stock boxes are more than adequate so just doing the less restrictive drop ins along with post maf tubes to straighten the air? is all you're going to need unless of course you spend some money on a cai. If you still feel you want to cut up your boxes for no real gains? By all means do its your car. :ugh2: |
Thanx tips , LOL no sure was just thinking out loud :)

stillen gen 3 , enough said. yes its costly around 550, but the pull you get from it low rpms you feel the difference, around 4-5k, omg it screams. well worth it.

They should make more power, but we'll see... If all goes well, I'll post pics of the build and lots of details; if they don't, I'll just report back with that as the conclusion. If I get another 5 whp out of it, I'll consider it a success, but again, we'll see. |
