Stock cats with the non res version sounds freaking awesome. A high quality exhaust like FI compared to stock, there isn't even a comparison. It's like driving a completely different car.

Also I was kinda concerned about volume at first because I had never had a car with an aftermarket exhaust, but after a few months of riding around with the 18 inch res I found myself craving more volume because this exhaust makes such an amazing sound. So I got a non res'd x pipe and swapped out my 18 inch res x pipe.

I almost always drive with the windows down just to hear the exhaust. I have a few videos on YouTube with a GoPro mounted right on the bumper above the exhaust if you want to get an idea. (RoyaltyB) IMO skip the 12 inch res and go non res with the stock cats.
