You can still make power with MAF tubes + Drop ins, here is a dyno to prove it. I will be doing the same modifications, except I will also be getting the Z1 headers and test pipes instead of HFCs. I'm confident I can achieve 330whp!

There is a dyno sheet here from a member showing the gains from the drop ins alone. They make 5hp and then 1hp extra with the MAF tubes.

They added an axle back and combined got a peak hp gain of 9.5hp total for the drop ins, MAF tubes and axleback.

And then you need a tune to make an additional 12whp.

That's all it takes for 305 ish whp.

I was really surprised with the numbers, so much so that I put the OEM filter back in and ran the test again.

Kinda confirmed the K&N numbers.

I think this needs more testing and another person to take the screen shots (so I'm not doing it while driving) to try to be a little more accurate. I think I also want some cruising numbers at about 80mph in 6th.

There's a lot of variance across runs... I think try and figure out a way to get consistent conditions for 10-20 sweeps for each set up, then report the means and SD's. Even then it may be inconclusive, but at least a lot of the random variance will be accounted for...

We had a corporate environmental guy in the office yesterday doing some sound studies and I showed him my air flow numbers and he agreed with the finding. When sucking air when the air flow increases the numbers will lower. The filters are not restricting so that allows the air to flow more freely therefore having less pressure. He said if you were pushing the air, then the numbers would be opposite.

Ohhhh so those numbers correspond to pressure drop/resistance to flow? Then that makes sense -- I had misunderstood them.

Is that also the case for lb/min?

Can you read voltage?

I would assume it is. Since the measurements are taken at the same point, less pressure = less lb/min but that means that the K&N filter allow for a lot more air flow.
