Muffler Delete, the good, the bad, and the ugly

I am assuming this can be done but I figure I would ask. Has anyone used the stock muffler for parts? In other words, can the muffler be cut off

Has anyone used the stock muffler for parts? In other words, can the muffler be cut off and the flanges and exhaust tips be reused? I am assuming they can be; just want to make sure I don't need to buy my own tips. Anyone know what the size of the stock piping is? My Z is in storage so I can't measure it myself.
